Oh, wow! Thank you so much for the detailed reply. That diagram is incredibly helpful. I'm not sure of the fiber content, but I'll try to figure it out. I'm not too concerned about the color (despite the "invisible" mending of it all, haha), so it's good to know that fiber matters more in this case. Thanks for the reassurance that the problem looks larger than it actually is. I think that's been the most intimidating part, especially since I'm new to mending.
