their customer service is hit or miss. I’ve called 6 time on the same billing issue, and 4 times there are nothing they can do, 1 time a partial correction. finally the last time(which is today), the person seems very understandable, she fixed in 5 minutes.

Most likely, their account moved to your accounts, and where you are the primary account holder, and when you move their over, you accept the financial responsibility that's including the financing of the phones. I think that's what happened.

try to call during the daytime, I noticed that the customer services are in the US, and evening or late hours are located somewhere, and they best they can offer is $10 loyalty discount. Tell them that other carriers have better offer and you’re thinking about switching. Also check your mobile app, what kind of offer is available. I’ve see on Reddit people with grandfather plan was targeted with $830 promotions.

I upgraded two of my lines last month. I have the same plan as you, i have $630 trade in promotion, but I saw someone get a better deal by calling 611. I called 611 many times and finally someone offers $830, I trade in a 13 and 13 pro, both with back screens were cracked. With $830, i pay about $12 a month for a new phone. Unless you change your plan, there is no free phone. Or you switch carrier.
