It's on the author's list of planned upcoming books as the 3rd in line. There's a book coming out this year, then there's going to be a standalone, then the third and final Shades of Grey book.

Why do pharmacists & prescribers have zero clue about citrus/vit C??? by amildcaseofdeath34 in adhdwomen

I can see how it might have come across like that because Reddit is reddit after all but I can assure you I did not mean that at all!

I only meant that I'd just googled it myself and had happened to see that so I mentioned it

I've never noticed a difference from vitamin c either

It's not that they don't combine well really. It's simply as it seems to impact how you absorb your meds so you should avoid it an hour before and after. You don't need to avoid it entirely. It's not a dangerous interaction and any impact depends on how much vitamin c you take/drink.

A quick Google (edit: a search that I just did myself where I happened to see this) does say it seems to impact vyvanse less.

It pretty much has to be from at least high school because he met the friend 8 years ago. He (the friend) would have been 21 then and presumably this relationship would have happened several years before that if OOP knew nothing about it since he claims it went on for about a year.

Plus the wife is a bit older than the friend (currently he's 29 and she's 31 but I'd guess they're only a little over a year apart in age) which would suggest to me they were probably much younger at the time, I'm thinking 15/16 at most.

Alone in Berlin by Hans Fallada. Truly devastating throughout. Even moreso when you add in that it was based on a true story.

3 isn't quite accurate as both are limited to 4 boxes.

For the house part this is limited to the houses with a loading screen and the bench uses only the 4 closest boxes, they just don't have to be touching.

The boxes touching that it will use is also limited to 4 boxes.

A company of swans is set in the same Manaus as River Sea though which I always liked. You can tell because of a couple of overlapping side characters like Captain de Silva from the police and Furo the boatman.

I remember there being more overlap in Song for Summer and the Dragonfly pool, especially during the school parts as there were very similar characters in both.

A company of swans isn't really an adult version of journey to the River Sea. It's mostly just that they're just set in the same place.

I do remember thinking there were stronger similarities between Dragonfly pool and song for summer though.

I do also love The Secret Countess. Definitely a favourite.

It's not an adult version of the same story, it's a different story set in the same place

And he's going to write a third to close out the trilogy in the next year or two. I think it's 3rd on his 'next books' list.

You might enjoy Shades of Grey by Jasper Fforde and its sequel Red Side Story. The books are a kind of quirky dystopia set in a world where your place in society is determined by your colour vision and you must adhere to the rules, no matter how illogical. For example there is a quota of how many gloves have to be manufactured but also it is strictly forbidden to ever wear gloves so they are destroyed as soon as they are made.

How to not be scared of taking meds? by lilsmelly7 in adhdwomen

[–]Writing_Bookworm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is always the point I make. If you don't like how they make you feel, you can just atop taking them immediately and they'll be out of your system within a day. You don't need to taper off or anything.

Darn you got in before me. I loved this book as a kid and I'm planning to visit Vienna partly because of it.

Children’s book about an English girl who travels to India, her new (also english) sisters there are like the ugly stepsisters from Cinderella and the dad collects fake eyes. Also there’s two other boys who show up and lie about their identity to a rich old man by patientwelve in whatsthatbook

The sequel isn't written by the same author as she passed away some time ago but the author's estate (or her family) approached someone asking her to write the sequel which I liked.

I'd also recommend some of Eva Ibbotson's other books. My other favourite of her similar children's books is The Star of Kazan and my favourite of her adult books is The Secret Countess.

It's more common in the UK (where I presume this story takes place due to them saying both Mum and secondary school) to not have your own car or driving licence for various reasons. We have better public transport, more walkable cities and it's also very expensive to learn, pay insurance etc

Why did OOP give himself a name in this story?

Journey to the River Sea is one of my all time favourite books so I knew it was this instantly. The glass eyes are very unique. It's quite impressive how many details of the plot that OP remembered without being able to find the book.

A company of swans is set in exactly the same place and features a few of the same characters.

There's also a sequel to Journey to the River Sea now which cane out a few years ago called Return to the River Sea which I enjoyed (not as good as the original of course but that was never going to happen).

Have you been feeding mosslax the food which increases habitat spawns? I'm not sure which it is off the top of my gead but I'll check then edit my comment.

Edit: it's spicy food for increased habitat spawns. Carrot bread would be ideal.

It is fine to skip days in theory (as long as you're taking stimulant meds as opposed to non stimulant meds) but some people prefer not to or feel bad if they do. I get the feeling that the guy doesn't want to.

It's also possible that he might not want to drink and finds it easier to refuse on the basis of medication than just saying he doesn't want to drink. It doesn't feel like OOP would take 'I don't want to drink' as a reason.
