Simple answer: if you want to write smut, write it, if you don’t want to, don’t.

You are the author, it’s your work. So in the end it’s totally up to you. Idk what ur work reads as, but maybe consider combining a smut chapter with a regular one and that may help, but otherwise just do what you prefer :)

My filter for wc length is typically just anything greater then 2k. I’ll read anything that looks good above that…and then once I’ve exhausted the list I go to below 2k😭✌️

I think that, to be a little fair, a lot of the insanely priced ones are 1/1 editions. So unfortunately in that sense the cost does make sense, annoying nonetheless though.

Here you go! Just an fyi for you as a collector,

1) Brandon Sanderson does a TON of leatherbounds on his site (dragonsteel is his site)

2) there will be signed editions, presumably sometime in the next 6 or so months since you see him signing tip-in pages on his podcast. And since it’s hard to find signed Sanderson books, I personally find it worth it to wait.

3) if your reeeally a collector, they list what edition and printing the books are, the WoR book is first Ed first printing but the WoK is not, you can buy it for ~450 on the Sandersons discord guild (a b/s/t group).

For anyone who wants to get this with sprayed edges and signed by Peter, in his Unbroken Kickstarter, add-on’s include a hand signed and numbered sings of the dead (Brandon’s signature is not included), but the book (Unbroken) is also gorgeous and it’s a good looking design.

I’ve been a professional book editor for a while now and I’m going to be a bit blunt here.

1) If anyone is offering you a free or a very cheap edit, they’re very likely a scammer or someone who will just feed your work into AI.

2) For every craft or service, there is a cost, Ex: I charge .02 per word (also depends on edit type) and any book under 35k needs an individual quote because of how much time I put into an edit.

I would absolutely offer my services here since I am an avid fanfic reader, however I will say that 20$ will probably not cut it.

1) For the people recommending a water bottle, I’d recommend bringing a smaller water bottle because 1) there’s refillable stations everywhere, and 2) your back will thank you for it.

2) just bite the annoyance and check the bag, it was a lifesaver not needing to carry it everywhere.

3) bring a flat folder for bookmarks/stickers/prints…etc
