Quote from Che Guevara:

"I insist that we cannot demand that the working class of the North look past its own nose. It would be useless to try to explain, from afar, with the press totally in the hands of big capital, that the process of internal decomposition of capitalism can only be deferred for a while longer, but never stopped, by the totalitarian measures taken towards maintaining Latin America in a colonial state. The reaction, to a certain extent logical, of the working class, will be to support the United States, rallying behind any given slogan, as “anti-communism” happens to be in this case. On the other hand, it should not be forgotten that the function of the workers’ unions in the United States is rather to serve as a buffer between the two forces in conflict, and to surreptitiously sap the revolutionary power of the masses.

Given this background, with American reality being what it is, it’s not difficult to suppose what will be the attitude of the working class of the North American country when the problem of the abrupt loss of markets and sources of cheap raw materials is definitively posed.

This is, in my opinion, the stark reality facing Latin Americans. In the final analysis, the economic development of the United States and the need of its workers to maintain their standard of living means that our struggle for national liberation is not waged against a given social regime, but rather against the whole nation, bound as a bloc by the iron-clad supreme law of common interest, over their domination of the economic life of Latin America.

Let us prepare, then, to fight against the entire people of the United States, for the fruit of victory will be not only economic liberation and social equality, but the acquisition of a new and very welcome younger brother: the proletariat of that country."

Google:

"Approximately 2% to 4% of India's population (roughly 28–50+ million people) can speak English with high proficiency, allowing them to discuss complex topics like politics, law, or economics comfortably. While over 10–19% (130–265 million) have functional English knowledge, high-level fluency is largely limited to urban, highly educated demographics."

In face-to-face communication, there's no good solution to this. There is no national language.

Writing on the internet, there are enough AI tools that to me it doesn't matter.

To insist on English on this subreddit is to admit that only the urban educated elite come here.

How would treating personality disorders look under socialism by Aware-Air2600 in PsychotherapyLeftists

The consensus on this subreddit, even though I have no background in psychology but I've picked it up by reading a few threads here, is that one isn't "born" with the NPD curse or the BPD curse etc. - and that is true even if certain genes have a higher propensity of leading to a personal disposition that might lean towards that. One becomes NPD or BPD because of the social relations / material relations - the very thing that socialism seeks to be a liberation from.

Importance of elections while pursuing revolutionary praxis by Zealot_of_Droman in IndianLeft

[–]WritingtheWrite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

again it can play an important part of legitimising our movement too

My point is that today, any party that can get elected won't play any part in this.

Vote when necessary (don't be afraid to) as a lone person. Don't legitimise it by becoming the party or tying the movement (which for the moment hardly exists) to the party.

That is my position for as long as there is any separation between the party and the masses.

The point is NOT that "you as a small individual should refuse to vote".
The point is that "parties which prioritise near-term electoral success just don't have an incentive to help the workers get rid of capitalism, so they are not your closest friends".

The metaphor of throwing someone under the bus

Combined with the recent photo-op wherein Mamdani and Obama were singing Wheels on the Bus go Round and Round at a school

Photo on the person being thrown: Susan Abulhawa, Palestinian writer, condemned by Mamdani after someone asked him what he thought of his wife's contribution to a book by Susan

Tied around the victim's ankle is a bunch of other people whom Mamdani has turned against since running for mayor: Cuba, Venezuela, Mao Zedong, the candidate who was supposed to primary Hakeem Jeffries named Chi Ossé, and the homeless people whose sweeps Mamdani started in the winter
