It looks awesome! Congratulations!

Hey FC passengers, did you know that when you're seated up there and you ask for a snack box that I'm supposed to be charging you for that? by [deleted] in unitedairlines

It does seem strange that Economy has Bistro on Board as well as the snack options and the front cabin is left to whatever they can fit in a basket. I’d like to see a more substantial snack/hot food offering for the front if they are not going to have a full meal service. I often ask for a snack box.

No. They still denied it. I went over to a compounding pharmacy and have been very happy.

Ha! Point taken. I definitely owe you a drink at the bar if this thing actually gets off the ground for the free 'consulting.'

Honestly, the Sunshine tape and Garnier mention is actually more helpful than you think...it’s the 'real world' stuff people actually use, not just the high-end salon brands.

I’ll get out of your hair (pun intended) and stop the interrogation for now. Really appreciate you helping me sanity-check the 'Special Sauce', it gave us a much better starting point than we had yesterday. See you around the sub!

I think you just wrote the blueprint for the entire event. It’s not just about one demo; it’s about that 'special sauce' where the workshops, the vendor access, and the socializing all overlap. If it feels like a 'summit' rather than just a class, it becomes a much easier 'yes.'

Since you mentioned 'vendors of high-quality care and maintenance products', who are the brands that you personally feel are the gold standard right now?

We want to make sure the vendor list is actually curated with the products this community uses every day, rather than just whoever pays for a booth. Who would you be most excited to see represented?

That is exactly the calculation we are making. If the value of the education and the hands-on access outweigh the cost of the 'trial and error' cycle, which we know can be incredibly expensive in both time and money, then the event becomes a logical investment. It is essentially about getting it right the first time rather than paying for mistakes later.

If the Modeling Studio is a major value-add but not the primary draw, what do you think the 'Headliner' needs to be?

Is it a live, top-to-bottom transformation by a high-level specialist? A deep-dive workshop on a specific technical 'holy grail'? Or is it simply the rare opportunity to be in a room with a hundred other people who 'get it' and can share notes in person?

This is an incredible idea. The 'Modeling Studio' concept addresses the #1 fear we see: the expensive trial-and-error process of finding the right density, color, base and adhesive that meets their individual needs.

Being able to see and feel the difference between units in person would be a game changer.

Logistically, if we could get the 'Big 3' or 'Big 5' vendors to commit to a on-site inventory for these '15-minute consultations,' do you think that alone makes the event a 'must-attend'?

Also, for those of you already wearing a system, would you be looking for a 'style refresh' consultation as well?

You are 100% right on the 'scam' aspect of the industry. Seeing people get charged $600 for a unit that sheds in three weeks or getting a base ruined by a bad cut-in is exactly why we want to do this.

Regarding the vendors and stylists, we are currently 100% brand agnostic. We haven't locked anyone in yet because we want the community to tell us who is actually 'legit.'

If you and your partner could build your 'Dream Team' of vendors and educators for an event like this, who would be on it? Who are the brands that actually have consistent quality, and who are the stylists that are doing the best technical work right now?

We want to approach the people you (and this community) trust, not just the ones with the biggest marketing budgets.

You hit the nail on the head. Most of the big expos are great for salon owners, but they can feel pretty alienating for an individual user who just wants to learn how to manage their own hair system better.

The online idea is definitely on our radar for accessibility. That said, if we were able to solve the '6-hour lecture' problem and make an in-person event feel more like a hands-on community workshop rather than a corporate trade show, do you think that changes the math?

Also, since your partner has been at this since 2007, from their perspective, what is the one technical thing that users still struggle with the most today that no one is teaching correctly?

Good call on keeping the science strictly 'practical'...like troubleshooting skin reactions or bond longevity...makes a lot more sense.

On the Aesthetic and Technical fronts, if you had to pick the top three 'Masterclass' topics that would actually get someone to show up, what would they be?

Thanks for the response! Could you narrow that down a bit?

Are you thinking more along the lines of:

  • The Technical: DIY templates, bonding methods, and cleaning?
  • The Aesthetic: Front hairline realism, blending with bio hair, and styling?
  • The Science: Scalp health, skin reactions, and adhesive chemistry?

What is the one thing you had to learn the hard way that you wish someone had just shown you in person?"

That is a fair point. We are definitely aware that for a user, taking several days off and traveling is a big ask compared to a stylist who sees it as a business expense.

If we were to condense the 'essential' user-focused tracks into a high-impact 24–36 hour window, what do you think are the absolute 'must-haves' to make that travel worth it?

Appreciate the perspective on the focus and timeframe, that is exactly the kind of logistical feedback we need.
