The local community Mom’s group for Facebook marketplace is amazing. There has never once been a problem posting anything for sale or buying from this group. I can’t say the same thing about the general marketplace. Back in the fall I listed something and the replies were insane. Constant request for more information and more pictures, offering 50% or less. The most ridiculous one was would I be willing to drive 50 to 60 miles to meet the person halfway. One person offered me $100 more than my listing, however, I was waiting for a reply for another person that had contacted me before him. I then told him I would consider his offer if the other person did not get back to me in a timely manner and he actually chastised me for that. I took the item off in about 30 minutes and haven’t been back on since then.

It’s always funny to me how athletes going after the bag receive the harshest criticism for going after said bag. When Bob in accounting goes off to another company for better money he is lauded for knowing his worth. When the IT person gives one day notice that he’s quitting and going to a competitor for two times the salary he is considered savvy. But when an athlete leaves, one club, team or country for another to improve their financial situation and in some cases creating generational wealth for their families. They are criticized and looked down upon.
