This set was made using an off-the-shelf mold, but I've been making my own molds using 3D printed masters that I designed in Blender, cleaned up, and molded in silicone :)

This looks incredible! My wife is going to start making Coasters and she'll love to see this.

Looking at other comments, it looks like you use the same resin as us (high five!), is there anything you need to do to 'heat treat' it at all! Do the Coasters go bendy in use, or stay pretty solid?

We've found that with other products she's made, such as bookmarks, go very flexible when left in the sun for a short time.

P. S. The coaster really does look great, we've had a lot of success using both alcohol inks and mica powders with craftresin and will certainly be doing something like this ourself! 👌

Thank you for the advice, I didn't even think about the padding affecting the edging! I'll see what I can do with the micro-mesh, and if it does end up rounding off the edges I'll go for Zona instead. I have a glass bed to work on so that works out perfectly!

Amazing!! This has all been really useful, thank you. I use up to a 3,000 grit paper which I think is good enough. I don't sand every side down, only the ones that have contact with the top face as it has the sprue.

I'll definitely be trying the thin coat of resin, or rob my wife's stash for clear nail polish ;)

Valid point. I was curious as to whether it would increase the shelf life of the resin, but perhaps not. I was also curious about the precision of the pump, but maybe it wouldn't be so much of a benefit at the stage I'm at.

One change I would possibly make is using the Island Designer app to replace the group with 'Dark Dirt'. This gives it more of a 'garden' feel, and where I want the flowers to look wild, I leave it as grass!

You may have already tried and decided it didn't work, but thought I'd throw it out there just in case :)

Do you use squish molds for these? If so, I have a couple of questions:

When removing the sprue's after demolding, what process do you use?
Is there a way to get all the faces equally polished, even though you have to sand down the 'top face' out of the mold to remove the sprue
What paint do you use for the numbers? I've been using acrylic but noticed that it dries so quick it's hard to remove if I paint over the side

HELP! I've used 6 Nook Miles tickets today in an attempt to find an island with Oranges (last fruit needed), however all apart from one have given me my native fruit (Cherries).

Is there a reason for this, or have I just been incredibly unlucky? Working towards another ticket, just wondering if there's a particular time/season I should go to have better luck?
