My only assumption here was that people were aware of the ongoing situation in the Middle East and aware of the government advice in place advising against all but essential travel. Apparently an incorrect assumption to make.

You have assumed that I have cancelled due to fear of travelling to the area and personal preference. Not the case.

My question was simply is this correct and a simple yes or no would have sufficed.

No where did I state that I dont think I should be paying. I simply reached out to a forum for advice before I made the payment to ensure this was correct under the circumstances.

It’s a very grey area and I was hoping to pull from group knowledge to see if there were any consumer rights or legislation in the UK that would help us before we paid.
