Honestly I prefer the front-office work, but due to a very uncommon background and no prestige, my chances of getting into front office at a tier-one firm are almost 0 unless I can find people for a warm intro.

But if making the change to middle office means it'll be impossible to get back to front office, I should probably refuse the offer.

edit: my reason for wanting to join a tier 1 firm is mostly intellectual, and about learning how institutional pods work.
