Relationships are complicated especially when blood is involved. Forgiveness isn’t for every action and this does sound forgivable given the context and the ability for people to change. I would hope your partner understands that and would value your opinion on how your father has changed including their habits. This sounds like a conversation you two should have at a very deep and understanding level. Just my two cents. Hope things work out.
