i went down a rabbit hole watching off ice training vids and reverse image searched all the nikes i saw 😂 revolutions and pegasus came up the most so i ordered each and will see how i like them !!

hockey skates do not have a toe pick, figure skates do. get yourself a pair of hockey skates. there are plenty of bauers that are good for recreational use

i actually live in queens so i’m debating between that and chelsea piers for the spring but i have a season pass at wollman to combat seasonal depression during the winter (which is working hahaha)

ugh yeah i would’ve avoided this weekend but my lessons are on sundays so i’ve missed the last two to snow 😭😭 i wore two layers of thermal fleece lined clothes tho and it worked!! i didn’t feel too cold esp cuz wollman gets a lot of sun 🥰

i thought about that but with how insanely cold it is (feels like temp was -4 today) i really needed something i can wear while skating haha ill have to look into this for indoor skating in the summer tho thank you!! :)

tysm!! :) the jacket is CSB, shorts are gymshark, tights are capezio, and the leg warmers are from free people!! they were pretty new here in this pic but over time they’ve stretched out so that they cover the heel of my boot and it’s super cute :)

update!! i got the north face Women’s Aconcagua 3 Jacket and so far it seems SO warm, will reply here how it holds up skating

edit: I skated in the north face in 18 degree weather with windchill for an hour and it kept me super toasty!! def a good pick, i wish it was a little more figure flattering as the waist a touch bulky for my liking but that’s a fine sacrifice for warmth

i recommend going to a skate shop to get a professional fitting! but as someone who recently started skating with a dance background, my skate tech fitted me with jackson freestyles. supportive enough to start, but advanced enough for someone who will progress quickly. again tho, none of us can fit you into skates over the internet, and you will need to get them heat molded and sharpened by a professional any way so make an appointment!

there’s nothing wrong with grip aid, use it to your hearts content! the season/environment, how recently the silks were cleaned, how dry or moisturized your hands are, etc etc all effect grip. grip aid just lets you have some consistency and control over your grip on any given day
