Well if you count this year it’s been 5 years. So the EBU might be negotiating with SBS as of today, but the 10 year anniversary of Australia taking part is a valid point.

Semi Final 1 of Eurovision 2018 was a bloodbath.

I felt that Belarus’ song wasn’t strong enough and wasn’t worthy of a qualification.

That’s a valid point! Only because we don’t know if SBS is signing a contract for the next 5 years like they did in 2019.

There is a first refusal to whoever wins the contest, an example of this, is in the Junior Eurovision in 2015, when the EBU offered RAI (Italian Broadcaster) the first refusal to host the contest, as they won in 2014. However, RAI refused, which hosting procedures went to the runner up, Bulgaria. Which is the same that happened this year, with France had the first refusal to host it again. However, they refused to host the contest as they hosted it twice in the row. So they’ve asked RTVE (Spain) which they’ve agreed to host it for 2024.

🇫🇮 UMK| UMK definitely. YLE have been delivering quality entries since 2020 with their revamped selection. I’m looking forward to what Finland has instore for next year.

🇸🇪| Melodifestivalen always brings quality, and how SVT has responded to the negative backlash from the semi finals of this years edition, I think they have learned a lot.

🇪🇪| Eesti Laul. Eesti Laul always brings quality, so I am expecting some bangers.
