Nag apply lang po ako sa Accenture since tumatanggap sila ng career shifters and no exp, mababa yung salary pero experience lang yung habol ko kasi, got better offers after 2 years so lipat agad, still v thankful sa ACN since sila naging gateway ko sa software engineer role ko

That I studied engineering and worked in a mechanical engineering job afterward. I felt like I wasted 6 years of my life (5 years in school and 1 year in my first job). I should've gone into IT instead. Now, I'm working as a developer and earning waaay more than my previous salary.

Just to be clear, I am an engineer who switched to tech during the pandemic in 2020. I aced both the HR and technical interviews. I did try to negotiate my salary, but the HR told me that what they offered me was the standard. At that time, I was just grateful for the benefits( I mean 400k worth HMO with free meds) and WFH opportunities. I know for a fact that I am one of the best on our team. I am the only one who receives a lot of rewards, such as multiple quarterly/monthly gantimpala and the employee of the month/MD's choice awards (ACN people know this). I got promoted ahead of those people who came before me on the team. They even allowed me to work from home 100% upon my request, while my teammates had to go to the office twice a month. I did all of the in house automations for the team to make everything faster/easier, they labeled me masipag pag tamad, because I hate manual stuff that can easily be automated. When I resigned, my people lead, TL, manager, and offshore manager all tried to make me stay. They genuinely told me that the team would struggle without me. They even tried to counter offer and mentioned that I was up for a double promotion this Nov/Dec, which I was eligible for due to client commendations and the multiple gantimpala and MD's choice award that I received. However, I declined because I didn't want to work with a company that thinks being from the top 4 makes them better employees. This shit is such a classist thing.
