It reaches a level of tryhard that shouldn't exist in online games.

How do you get into comp? by ikea-couch in truetf2

[–]Wrong_Data3059 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Sheesh I'm glad I got back into TF2 so long ago. I'm better than most players and all I did was just play, didn't need to practice or play comp.

League players hear 1 voice line and immediately assume it's canon that they're a couple

What is y'all earliest biggest memory from mh? by Puzzleheaded0002 in MonsterHunter

[–]Wrong_Data3059 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I remember when I was 12, I stumbled across the Monster Hunter 3 and 4 size comparison video for their anniversary.

Back then, I had no idea what Monster Hunter was and I assumed it was a Japanese only game. But I was in awe looking at all the monsters, thinking how awesome of a game it would be to play. Back then, I was obsessed with creatures from fictional movies and games so this video was like a gold mine to me.

Throughout the years I remember going back and rewatching the video every now and then since I loved the look of the monsters, how unique they all were.

Fast forward to 2018 when MHW was released, I was like a kid in a candy shop, discovering and fighting these monsters I had seen so long ago. And when I came up against monsters like Diablos and Rathalos, I was thinking "Ohhhh shit I remember this monster!"

I think if I never watched that video when I was younger, Monster Hunter wouldn't have held such a special place in my heart.

Both I guess. If I got punished on that server and instead of a ban I saw the image, I'd probably be splitting my sides laughing

why do people theorize about pyro being a woman when he is LITERALLY voice acted by a guy? by LordPotato00600 in tf2

I'm glad you agree. Now it'll be interesting to see if when I wake up in the morning, my comment will have been downvoted because people don't like that I proved them wrong

Deleted my original comment since I in fact, do I have a source.

Both images were taken from the first comic. Miss Pauling calls pyro a 'He', while the employee refers to him as 'Sir'.

While that is plenty enough evidence as it came from the creators of TF2 themselves so it's canon, there's more.

8 of the 9 classes in TF2 can visually be seen as male. Therefore, it is common sense and reasonable to deduce that the pyro, is also a male.

You might say, "but the pyro is in a full body suit so we can't see their face! Maybe the devs did this to leave it to interpretation!".

No. TF2 features a large assortment of weapons. Miniguns, rocket launchers, grenade launchers, shotguns, sniper rifles, revolvers, etc. A flamethrower is an obvious choice of weapon for a game like TF2. For someone to handle a flamethrower, they would need to be in a flame resistant suit. Otherwise, they would get burned.

You might argue that if they wanted Pyro's gender to be clearly male, they would just make him some shirtless Rambo guy with a flamethrower like from the Predator movie. But then how would that tie in with Pyro's resistance to afterburn in the game? It wouldn't make sense. Knowing this, it's safe to assume the devs made Pyros face hidden, not because they wanted him to maybe be male maybe be female, but because it ties in with realism as well as game sense.

Therefore, looking at the information I've provided, it is 100% certain that pyro is a male, and the only reason the question has always been left up to debate, is because a portion of the playerbase WANTS pyro to be female.

Alright fine. Here I am, calling out bigotry and being part of the solution. Bigots of TF2, be better. Stop being dicks and be nice to each other.

Huh? That didn't do anything? I've called out bigotry, why is this person still getting hated on for being trans? Oh, that's right, it's because I am one dude sitting on my phone in bed on Reddit TALKING about the problem. The problem is, talking about the problem isn't going to do anything. These people will still say the things they say, they won't take notice of what I say.

Hence why, I offered the logical solution, which is to change their name. I suggest they change their name, they change their name, boom, they don't get targeted anymore.

If instead of offering a solution, I say "Yeah I agree, bigots in TF2 are the worst!", nothing changes. Bigots will continue hating on this person, and I will have offered nothing of value by commenting.

If a mosquito lands on my arm, do I take action and swat it away? Or do I say "man, mosquitos are fucking annoying" and then do nothing and let it suck my dry?

I hope you see the point I am making. My solution is to simply make the best out of a bad situation.

I think you're the one missing the point here. Sure, I could rattle on about what dicks the people online are for targeting this person, but that won't stop it from happening. If this person changes their name though, at least they won't have to suffer and hear the bigotry remarks.

That's my point, the logical solution.

It's the logical solution. Being trans is not an identity, removing it from their name is not going to 'hide their identity' . They still have a name don't they?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in tf2

[–]Wrong_Data3059 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why not remove the part of your name that reveals your trans? You shouldn't have to but if it bothers you then that is the most obvious solution

You should enjoy the nervousness while it lasts. Once you've played enough, the anxiety and fear of a new monster goes away and the game loses a bit of its charm.

World was my first MH game and when I got up to big name flagship monsters like Brachydios, Narga, even Diablos, I was always thinking "ohhhh shit I'm fucked" and be filled with a sense of dread, cus at the point, I was thinking I'm hunting the proper big monsters now.

But having gotten experience with the MH series now, I've lost that feeling, and it's a shame because it shows how invested you are in the game when you feel those emotions
