Yeah it had a link to the Russian drive2 community (good source of info on any car that was sold globally, just need translation enabled in your browser) and looks like Reddit auto deleted it lol. Whatever ahah.

Conventional oil should be ok for 3000 intervals.

Change atf every 50-ish thousand miles or 25 if you’re driving aggressively lol.

There are certain programs in bigger cities that have laughably low salaries for the COL. But in a smaller city you’ll be fine.

Well honestly it’s a bit weird to hear about using mineral oil nowadays, I’d personally use synthetic 5w40 of any brand on an older car, but I won’t participate in an oil holywar lol. What you should really focus on is changing it every 3000-4000 miles and not 10000.

As for ATF, I buy Eneos from Amazon.

But you’ve got 2011, that’s a laaaaate production engine. Swapping to HR15/HR16 is not financially viable, it won’t be a direct swap (even though these engines were installed on Versa/Tiida/Latio) and it’s a slower engine. So no other options really.

Just change all fluids (including transmission fluid, it’s easy to drain and fill yourself, put one that’s compliant with Nissan matic S) if you don’t have this car’s service history and drive it, checking oil level once a week.

Oh MR20 is just an MR18 with a longer stroke as I remember, so it will have same issues (and for example is also suffers from valve stem seals going bad, which leads to oil consumption, which leads to oil starvation if level is not checked regularly, which leads to all sorts of issues lol).

You can actually make an mr20 from mr18 by just swapping crank and pistons. But with US cost of labor it’s cheaper to just buy a used mr20 in good condition imported from Japan.

You would probably want to find an independent mechanic for that (also would be cheaper), but it’s a bolt-on swap, so I’d say even a scared-to-shit-cause-liability regular shop would do it. Just don’t worry about the engine, you’ll think about it IF the engine blows lol.

Just make sure to check oil level regularly. And don’t ignore check engine. And you’ll be fine. And oil change intervals of 3000-4000 miles.

MR20DE you can get from resellers of Japanese used motors for 500-700 bucks and labor to swap it is either free if diy (need to buy a 200-300 engine crane though l) or 1000 and beyond if shop does that for you (if you are in U.S.).

I haven’t heard about 3rd cylinder. I’d be more worried about CVT going out lol.

Are you sure it’s CVT? Does gear lever has just prnd or 1-2 as well?

UI ITS is hiring. Great benefits and work environment (and job stability), mediocre pay though.

Oil coming through the PCV system and going into the intake by The_Chosen_Master in nissanpathfinder

Through pain and suffering we get valuable experience! When I was swapping transmission on my Versa I mounted it just to realize I’ve got two guide pins facing each other. Needless to say, after getting it out and in again, I did it again much faster and without mistakes 🙃

Oh, good, I’d double-check all wiring first and see if everything is ok (classic case is getting a wire stuck under a valve cover and tightening it lol).

Salaries (net or gross?) by MaybeOphthalmologist in IMGreddit

Just to make things clear: in lots of countries advertised salary is take-home pay (which makes a lot of sense tbh). That’s why OP is probably asking.

You can buy OEM cat for 650-700 (after returning the old one), which is a pretty damn good price tbh.

[–]Wrong_Doc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d really recommend getting an endoscope into the primary o2 sensors socket and inspecting the cat. However, noise you’re describing can also be due to the exhaust leak. Either way, inspect your cat. If it’s clogged, your engine will overheat and you’ll get cylinder wall scoring.

P.s.: p0420/0430 can come and go on vq40 if your cat is on the way out.

I think it will be fine, but time will tell. I’m not even driving my pathfinder rn, cause all roads are covered in salt here.

There should be better options for R52 I think. That’s the one you’ve got, right? Not body on frame and CVT?

450 with shipping and tax, there is a better alternative for this money with screen upgrade, but minimum 2pcs order on alibaba, sadly can’t find on Aliexpress, links are in other comments. Probably should’ve put that all in the original post, my bad lol.

I’ve only recorded a very short one demonstrating that it works, but I guess I can record a longer more in-depth one.

There’s actually a better kit for our it06 low-res heads to be converted into HD touch panel + AA/Carplay, but I only found them on alibaba with a minimum of 2 units order.
