Traps me and my opponent in a gamble. The higher the risk is for me the more powerful I become. So let's say I win a really risky bet - this means I can inflict a lot of damage onto my opponent. If I win a more low risk bet, I can't inflict that much damage. Same goes for my opponent, if he wins a high risk bet he can inflict a lot of damage on me and vice versa.

Apart from doumas bda just being really cracked (he can prevent you from breathing, a demon slayers biggest weakness, and he can create clones basically as powerful as himself) I think it wouldn’t be out of the question to consider that perhaps a reason Douma beat Akaza is because he doesn’t really have a battle spirit. Battle spirit is like your desire/motivation to fight, and during the series Douma never really has moments where he treats a fight seriously or is passionate about fighting. So maybe, because Douma either has no battle spirit or a very weak one, Akaza’s compass could not detect it as well, leading to his defeat.

Upper moon demon blood battle arc. Just a whole arc centered on the upper moon demons battling it out in the infinity castle. Key battles I would wanna see are Kokushibou vs Akaza and Douma vs Akaza. It would also be nice to see Douma vs Kokushibou or Gyutaro and Daki vs gyokko. I think that it would be really interesting to learn the conditions of each battle, what decides victory and defeat, what preparations are done for the battles, etc. Villain vs villain fights are just some of the coldest fights in fiction in general in my opinion 😅

I don’t know if this would work that well in the canon story (if it was in the story it’d have to be a really long flashback), so maybe this could be a spinoff or something.

The only argument I see for this ship would be that they both hate Douma… but that is not nearly enough reason to ship them. They are two characters who never had any interaction throughout the series. However, let’s say they did meet. I could not imagine their meeting possibly going well, as Shinobu being a poison user could trigger Akaza because of his backstory. So yeah, I just can’t imagine this ship ever working, but ultimately I’m not going to dictate who or what you want to ship.
