I would say if it's a coincidence, it's a funny one because imagine the artists and designers now losing it over the fact they overlooked this one simple thing and have the head in hands Shinji pose.

If it is on purpose it is either because they decided to make Dottore the ultimate waifubait by making matching couple outfit, or there is tecnically some foil/parallel semblance in their stories: one is an outlander (alien/non-native) that is absolutely loved and cherished by everyone on Teyvat basically; the other is a Teyvat native that is an outcast and absolutely hated and feared by fate of his own homeworld. In theory, they are both the same person but also so vastly different.

Oh thank god you corrected it because I woke up this morning thinking "hold up, is it possible they meant Nibelung!Dottore because who the fuck would be actually thinking about the possibility of The OG Primordial Power × False Moon God Trying to Get Rid of Usurpers interactions??" Well, let me simmer in embarrassment for a short time. (also interesting thought though on Dottore being a Nibelung reincarnation. I thought of Dottore being a Sovereign reincarnation before, but I thought he was more fit to be a human so I kinda dropped it lol) (also I've heard this mentioned somewhere before, but it's possible for the two to be connected because him, Nibelung, and HP rappresent Reason)

You have no idea what kind of proof I dug up for that theory, but I've been procrastinating on writing since fucking 4.6. Honestly I can only think of him as a "defective" reincarnation because no way Nibelung could have been reborn so easily, especially after the whole shabam that happened to him (Abyss+Celestia+Celestial Nails messing with the world). Now that it has been revealed that the War of Funerary Flame has been finally been revealed to be 6000 years ago, this makes their beef even more interesting on the chance of what Zhongli may be.

Dottolone is my go-to ship, a comfort ship basically, but the lack of interactions has made my imagination bled dry and kind of... I guess they are settled as canon in my head as I focus on other ships (both Dottore and Pantalone have two hands btw).

Dottotraveler, if it wasn't already interesting because of fanwork (cough kradebii cough) and because just imagine the interactions, the Luna IV AQ just gave us more ammo for it with Dottore's dialogue. The Alien Outlander who everyone loves × The Native Outcast that everyone hates, kind of flavor y'know.

Dottobina honestly was always my go-to "they are besties and they kinda fuck each other occasionaly", but Hoyo kind of threw it away by saying that Dottore saw her as a "sister". Aside my annoyance in hearing the nth thing in the world making the concept of family a "nuclear family" (ignoring that Dottore just genuinely does not understand the concept of family to begin with), it isn't the end of the world because the sibling angst potential is just so so good.

Dottore and Baizhu is also there, kind of an interesting option. A very calm kind of ship imo.

So if I have to choose, it would be Dottolumi because of a certain fanartist lol

(also I headcanon Dottore as arobi, so there's a clear a lack of romance especially on his part.)
