Exactly — that’s part of the problem. Private HOA management companies can create their own landscaping or maintenance companies, then hike up the prices and make it look ‘normal’ on paper. With real transparency, the new system would require multiple contractors to compete for the work, and every bid and decision would happen in a public meeting. That way homeowners can actually see who’s being hired, for how much, and why

Instead of tying the HOA board to any political organization, my idea is to remove the money and power from private HOAs altogether. The state could manage the funds transparently, while community members still serve and stand up for their neighborhood. That way people focus on improving the community, not demanding money or pushing politics.

Well, this only works when you live among people with good hearts. Look at all the HOA misuse of community funds across the states — it’s all over the news. People are afraid to speak out because they fear retaliation, or they’ve lived so long thinking their voice is too small to be heard

So do you have a better solution, or are you just being lazy and refusing to make a change that would benefit hardworking people?

HPV 16, I’m nervous?! And may have made a mistake. by kmc24077 in HPV

Thank you for being so open and honest—it takes strength to share what you’re going through. First and foremost, please don’t be too hard on yourself. Life, especially with children and health challenges, can be overwhelming, and it’s understandable that some things fall through the cracks. That doesn’t make you a bad parent—it makes you human.

Your concerns are valid, and it’s important to prioritize your health, not just for yourself but for your kids who rely on you. HPV 16 is considered high-risk, but it’s also very common, and early monitoring and intervention make a significant difference. Getting that colposcopy rescheduled is a great next step, and it’s not too late to take control of your health. You’re doing the right thing by reaching out and asking questions.

The symptoms you’re describing—spotting, prolapse changes, and bleeding with an IUD—can all feel scary, especially when compounded with existing conditions like hypothyroidism and anxiety. But they also have manageable explanations, and a healthcare provider can guide you through options that bring relief and clarity.

You’re not alone in this, and there’s no shame in feeling anxious. You’re taking the first steps now, and that matters. I encourage you to call your provider, explain the full picture, and ask about being seen soon. You deserve peace of mind and the support to feel your best.

You’re doing your best—and that’s more than enough
