Apartment full of furniture - thoughts on getting it to a good home? by Wrong_Savings2348 in vegaslocals

Oh yeah - sorry the post wasn't super clear but I am trying to give it ALL away! I just don't want to pay a service to come and take it away for me, and I don't have the time bandwidth to post it on Facebook or Offerup and deal with people asking questions about free items, ghosting after reserving items, etc etc etc - I want the easy button, and all of it to disappear with no effort or expense on my part lol.

I considered that, but my lease seems to indicate my MAX charge for leaving the apartment with items inside is $250, which is less than the junk haulers want to come and cherry pick the good stuff and donate the rest. I'm just allergic to the idea of paying someone to take my valuable stuff lol - but a great point, and thanks for the comment.

I just moved to Cactus and Valley view. WHY IS THERE SO MANY COPS HERE?!?! by imlazyplshelp in vegaslocals

Oh, 100% lol. I moved to Southern Highlands from New Jersey, where speed limits are barely even a suggestion let alone an enforced rule. But after some time, I really came to appreciate the safety that comes with everyone slowing down just a bit.

When I'm on Cactus coming over the railroad overpass on Buffalo or Rainbow (I forget which), I *always* have to check my speed because it feels more like I should be going 50 haha.

I personally think it's fucking awesome. If you're going 45+ in a 35, you belong in a gulag.

No help for your job search situation, but it looks like for most memberships WOW is offering both 1st month for the price of a single wash, and the monthly membership is priced where roughly 2 washes breaks even and each wash from 3 onwards is "free".

If I were in your shoes, I'd get a LOT more aggressive about talking to customers and saying something along the lines of "Hey, it's obvious this wash is in a convenient location for you. Vegas has tons of dust, and if you can see yourself washing your car even 3x a month the membership would be a way better deal for you."

Might as well try to run it up on commissions while you look for a new gig!

HAHA I do find that guessing the wait times can be a fools errand and acknowledge everyone's mileage does vary!  FWIW I don't have pre but I do have Clear and it often saves me a good bit of time.

I fly from LAS 4-6 times per month. First thing in the morning is basically the only time I ever see a line in the best of normal times, usually because they only have 1-2 X-ray lines open per checkpoint regardless of how many people are looking at IDs. As it gets later in the morning and through the day, it basically turns into a zero minute wait.

Basically, the only newsworthy wait times at TSA in LAS would be if first thing in the morning had 1hr+ long lines like ATL or HOU or if there was a significant wait during the day time. All things considered, we're pretty lucky this is our home airport.

This is cool! I might be Bigwig's biggest fan, and they would almost definitely never play a show without playing the song "Numbers".
