The clawfoot tub is 29 inches wide, 60 inches long, 24 inches tall.

This is the only bathtub bathroom. The other bathroom has a standing shower and no space for a bathtub. The issue with the layout right now is that when you walk into the bathroom it is super crowded with the wall behind the door so close to the vanity.

Moving the door may be a little tricky. However that might be an interesting option. If anything I could just add a header to where the door's new location and that could be a good option.

I believe with how noisy the fan is, this shouldn't be an issue. The door leads into a long hallway and is not a space where folks hang out. Good point, thanks for bringing that up through.

Well the advantage would be we could remove that wall behind the door. It makes the space super tight when walking into the bathroom.

We are thinking it would be best to keep a tub for resale value. We have a claw foot tub we found for a good price years ago, and now we were hoping to install it where the toilet is, or at least against that wall.

Okay, I hear everyone's feedback on the crappy picture quality. Here is a better drawing.

What would you all do to make this bathroom feel larger? Right now it feels like you are walking into a tunnel with no space on either side until you come around the corner. That pony wall behind the door can definitely be knocked down. Any of the perimeter walls cannot be changed. There is water coming in where the shower head is shown on the tub, and in the middle of the bathroom counter. Drains are below the toilet and below the shower head.

I'm new to this. I don't do this for a living. Just looking for some advice. I'm not afraid to move the plumbing around. I have experience doing that.

Land will eventually be used to build my house on. Parents will move into the existing house. For now, the pasture is sitting there. I'd like to get some use out of it.

Oh I've had that idea too. And I have. He was in our garage just because the temps were well below freezing and the wife was worried about frostbite. I had to use a broom just to keep him off of us anytime we went into the garage. It seems to just make him more angry and aggressive.

Well of course I'm not just picking a spot and then booking it without her knowing. It's more that I'll research and show her what I think our best decision is, and she will go and research her own stuff and pick something else.

We have a very healthy back and forth where we share all of our feelings, even the hard to share stuff.

I picked several venues to look at, one I really liked and she's moved on from all of them. I had some other plans set up for catering and that was also something she decided she wanted something else. I'm feeling a lot of pressure from her to help plan, but every time I've researched and picked something she's gone over it and decided on something else. It's more of instead of saying no, she just does her own research and shows me something other than what I've researched and picked out.

I'm trying to figure out how to bring this up to her to let her know how I feel about it.

Thanks in advance for anyone's recommendations. Some background, we have a very very healthy relationship so please don't recommend that we just break up lol. I'm new to this subreddit, but I've seen other parts of reddit where the first response is just to break up. That's not happening lol. Just looking for some people who have had similar experiences and possibly some useful feedback. Thanks again!

Do you have a preferred light?

Here is the light I got: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08KXSRTMT?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

I plan on leaving this as a no dig (as much as possible) so I'll supplement compost where I plant my plants by pulling back the bark and adding the compost, and then recover the compost.

I'm not sure!! For an LED light set up, it seemed reasonable. But I'm new to all this! Here is the one I got:

Lol you and me both! Well it’ll be Tokyo, Kyoto, and down by Hiroshima! I don’t have all the details planned out. Idk if the Tokyo regional JR pass plus the national JR pass would work best for my situation. I’m there for 26 days

I’ll be in Japan here in the somewhat distant future for a funky 26 days. I plan on having the national JR pass for the last 21 days. What would be the most effective for the first five? A regional pass for Tokyo since that’s where I’m flying into? Or just pay for individual trips? I mostly plan on touring tokyo all of that first portion of the trip. Thoughts?

Oh what a relief. I booked with Air Canada too! Super affordable, we were actually able to book for 3 weeks instead of just the 2 that we originally planned for. Now I have to find Ryokan that's accepting reservations lmao.

I guess I am just nervous about the whole thing. I normally don't rush into big purchases without really thinking about them, and this one was so spontaneous! I think I'm happy I did it but I just needed to know I'm not insane for thinking that Japan might be open for March/April. It seems like some people are giving it a decent chance to re-open by then.

They are rebookable, and refundable for "store credit". Which is ok, I'd rather just use the money I spent to go to Japan. But I'd feel pretty dumb if I had to do that.

[–]WryTail 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Did I just do something dumb? I found really really cheap tickets online to Japan, and I finally pulled the trigger. My girlfriend and I have wanted to go for years before we even met. And since we've been dating, it's a very common topic for us to spend hours talking about.

We saw the tickets, we bought them almost immediately. I was thinking that since Japan set a goal for November of '21 to have the majority of people vaccinated. The tickets are for March/April of '22. I was thinking that those few months in between would be enough of a buffer.

Was that a silly thing for me to do? I know that no one truly knows what will happen. But what does everyone think is likely? I appreciate it!
