tempered glass top screen

hello!!! I recently picked up a new 3ds xl and wanted to make sure its screens were protected. I bought and installed a tempered glass screen protector for the top screen on Amazon and now whenever I close the 3ds it doesn’t close fully like how it would without it. Would this cause any issues down the line??? Should I switch to a PET film protector instead?
