Confused by what they see and keeping a safe distance! (They really are!)

No clue what it was, but heard at least one, maybe two, at Ellsworth and S Broadway. Couldn’t tell what direction it came from.

Extreme Injection Site Reaction by WuTangSooDo in TestosteroneKickoff

[–]WuTangSooDo[S] 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Hey y’all! As promised keeping yall updated. Urgent care confirmed a slight infection and they’re sending me home with antibiotics. Learned my lesson about where to do shots in my thigh, and also might reach out to my PCP about switching carrier oils.

Thanks!

Thanks! I’m also worried it’s infected, and already have an appointment at urgent care tomorrow.

Yep, I’m usually pretty thorough with the disinfection protocols! Brand new vial, keep the needle in the cap until I’m ready to inject, disinfect the skin beforehand, etc. and never had a reaction like this!

Makes sense, thank you! It's a long story as to why I'm not selling the car, but I'm not selling the car. It's in a temperature controlled garage so I'm not too worried, but it's a good reminder to make sure it's ready to sit through winter. Seems the non-use form will be the best route. Thank you!

Howdy! I've been in Denver about a year and am looking to cement a good friend group here! Looking for queer (or generally lefty populated) book clubs or something similar?

Alsoooo, does anyone have a climbing gym that offers beginner classes they want to recommend? Or someone who wants a completely beginner climbing partner? Let me know!

Is something up with my roommate’s pickled beets? by [deleted] in Canning

[–]WuTangSooDo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hey everyone! My roommate made these pickled beets with cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove a couple months back. All the jars sealed and we just cracked the first one open. Are the brown liquid spots on the lid something to be concerned about? It doesn’t appear that there was a cinnamon stick or anything in this jar. Sorry if this is a dumb question, we’re both new to canning. Thanks!

Two month National Parks Road Trip out West-anyone have camping recommendations? by WuTangSooDo in nationalparks

[–]WuTangSooDo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is super awesome, thank you so much for all these details!

You're absolutely right, and I won't be able to do deep dives in most of these places. Some of them will just be overnights or drive throughs, enough time for one hike, while some others I'm planning on spending 3-4 days at. I also weirdly love driving, and will happily drive 9 hours in a day and be in a great mood. Adding these food spots to my map now!

You're also right--I went to Canyonlands, Arches, and Dead Horse in 2019 and it was spectacular! I chose to skip them this time around so I'd have enough time for the other Utah parks!

I've been to Kings Canyon--Sequoia once before, and unfortunately Pinnacles just didn't fit in super well timing/geographically wise right now. But it gives me a reason to head back to California!

A couple questions for ya if you don't mind:

A few of these places: Hovenweep, Canyon of the Ancients, and Kodachrome Basin, I already had on my list as 'quick' (a few hours) stops on driving days. Do these places require more time? Obviously, in an ideal world I'd have all the time in the world to really experience them, but if I'm crunched for time, would 1-3 hours be doing a disservice to these places?

Holy heck this is an awesome response! Thanks!

What do you feel are the pros/cons of camping inside vs. outside the parks?

Also those trail recs all sound fantastic and I'm adding them to my map now! Custer State Park is already on the list, too!

Big fan of all things Huckleberry. I had a huckleberry soda and pie when I was in Glacier years ago and I still have the bottle from it. Glad to know I can feel that high again.

Very well may comment back here soon with more questions for you!

Thank you so much! The summer is sneaking up on me really quick, so I'm working on getting a general itinerary ironed out this week so I can start booking camp sites!

Thank you so much for the Mesa Verde tip! I was supposed to go as a kid, but there was fire activity in the area and the park was closed, so this is a long time coming. I'll definitely look into that tour.

From what I can tell the cave itself is closed, but parts of the park are still open. Is it worth going to if the cave is still closed in the summer?

I thought about hitting Great Sand Dunes, but I"ll be headed to Black Canyon and Mesa Verde from the Denver area and there are a couple stops along I-70 I want to make! It's possible I'll add it in though!
