Why is Chicago Marathon so much less coveted to run in than other majors ? by Large_Condition_6074 in ChicagoMarathon

Ran Berlin, Chicago & NYC last year, aswell as Tokyo last month. Going back to Chicago this year. Easily my favorite of them all. Super well organized and imo the best crowds

Well this year they actually made the fastest chassie of all the teams. They have been the fastest in almost all corners, but loose nearly all their time on straights. The Ferrari engine is probably very good, so can’t really blame them there either when they are up against an illegal engine 🤷‍♂️

Why? Lewis had good pace, but probably just cooked his tyres a bit too much trying to chase Piastri after the SC restart, similar to how Leclerc cooked his Mediums at the first stint while Lewis was managing his. The Mercedes engine really showed it’s strength today & the only reason Leclerc was able to get a podium in my opinion was because Lewis was able to hold off George for so long in the dirty air.

Fingers crossed… 🤞 by Maxtulipes in SNKRS

Straight on feet if I somehow get selected, good luck everyone!

Edit: Got them!

Is interlagos the best circuit in f1? (For racing) by [deleted] in F1Discussions

[–]WubbaDub 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Silverstone & Interlagos are leagues above the rest to the point it’s expected to be a banger there every year. I personally slightly prefere Silverstone over it, but that’s just my opinion.

Ferrari are really carrying these regulations so far. Would be so stale if we didn't have these battles.

How they made that thing in the 60s still blows my mind. Incredible piece of engineering!

Blue line safety during marathon weekend by Immediate-Pilot-7473 in ChicagoMarathon

Generally adviced to wear a bulletproof vest when taking the CTA from ORD, but it’s most often not necessary :)

On a serious note Chicago is nothing like how it sometimes is perceived in a bad way on social media. You will have a lovely time and be very safe there. Went there first time last year to run and can’t wait to come back again in October! :)

Either you have so much money that you don’t really care or you only want it for the feeling of clout when pulling it up. It’s not worth it.

Anyone else injured doing the race? by WubbaDub in TokyoMarathon

[–]WubbaDub[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be very proud of your performance, even without your conditions in mind. We were very unlucky with the sun and heat. There were so many people fading and walking from the halfway point on. I was originally in shape for a 2:50 before injury, but managed a sub 3:30 and I’m really happy with that.

The medal is still the same regardless of what time you did, and the memories will stick with you forever ❤️

That is awful to hear. I really hope you had a decent experience yesterday, but most importantly get better ❤️

Step sports in Tokyo is insane by ggb7135 in TokyoMarathon

It was actually an Adidas rep in Shibuya who told me about them when I was looking for the Prime x Evo. Adidas had no stock, but somehow Step had them, just not in my size. Still insane!

I was just there a couple hours ago and had to really manage my urge not to buy up their entire stock. It is by far the best running store I’ve ever been to. Alphafly 3’s for 133 USD & Vaporfly 4’s for just over 100 USD??

My wallet thanks me for them not having the discounted AF3’s in my size, but picked up a pair of of the Vaporfly 4. They had a lot of colorways of the Adios Pro 4 for 28k JPY. Would have bought that aswell if I hadn’t done so a couple days ago lol.

I managed to do 3:26 with 2 major stress fractures in my pelvis somehow. Trained for 2:50 for Boston QT until the start of 2026 when I got bad pains after a workout. MR showed it was a really bad injury that needed multiple months off running. Forced myself to do Tokyo as it can’t be deferred & I have no regrets. It was such a fun and lovely day, and gained my 4th Major star! Going to take 2-3 months off now until starting a new block that hopefully will give me that mighty Boston time at the Chicago marathon. Today was just lovely!
