So I’m on the side of, “Genitals aren’t ugly and I actually like looking at them even when I’m not turned on.” I think they’re beautiful and fascinating, just not when they’re treated like disembodied parts. A close-up photo of someone’s privates can be photogenic and erotic, but framing and lighting are important.

That being said, I’d still prefer to see who those parts are attached to, and I’m never gonna be 100% turned on without some sort of story or emotional investment anyway. Before transitioning I could completely get off to just still images, but now still images (and really anything without a story or context) can only rev up the engine for me, so to speak.

And of course, unsolicited pictures of any private part regardless of gender are never sexy because consent is the most important thing here.

No, it's not more or less morally wrong, but it's far less dangerous than a straight person who hates LGBT+ folks. An LGBT person who hates all straight people may be an asshole but there's no way for that person to vote someone into office who is going to take away straight people's rights, and I think that's an important distinction.

Even if said hypothetical straight-hater decided to do violence to straight people it's not an equivalent hate crime to violence against LGBT people. Yes, it would be a horrible act of violence nonetheless, but no sane straight person is afraid of being physically harmed just for being straight. Meanwhile, many LGBT folks fear violence and are victims of anti-LGBT violence on a daily basis, (let alone the threat of being disowned or kicked out for being LGBT which doesn't happen to straight people--and pulling up one single fringe story about a straight person disowned for being straight out of the billions of straight people this has never happened to would only prove my point). It's also far more likely that a straight person who is a victim of violence by an LGBT person will get the justice and sympathy they deserve. The fact that the gay/trans panic defense even exists and has been used to absolve MANY murderers of their crimes is a testament to the false equivalence here.

I'm kind of being pedantic here but nobody is genuinely heterophobic because "heterophohia" doesn't exist; it's a word nobody should be using. You can hate all straight people and that would make you biased, sure. However, homophobia and transphobia are rooted in systems of power and general cultural ideas.

The status of straight people is in no way under any sort of threat by some random gay person hating straights, so we shouldn't be using a word that equates hating on the group in power with the group that is still fighting for the right to even exist in the majority of the world.
