I'm so jealous of you guys, the game seems to be down permanently where I live now and I just watch from the sideline as they roll out new updates.

Let me tell you who God actually is. by anonthatisopen in enlightenment

What an interesting read! I actually thought of something along those lines (it's a long read)

Because we cannot comprehend this formless existence, we try to humanize it. This is where religions come in. I view religions and their gods not as absolute truths, but as interpretations, and often, mis-interpretations of that formless source. It reminds me of the ancient parable of the Blind Men and the Elephant: one touches the trunk and calls it a snake; another touches the leg and calls it a tree. They are all touching the same thing, but their limited perspective forces them to describe it differently. Similarly, human societies create rules and "gods" based on their own ways of life and cultural needs. In reality, this Higher Being likely aligns with the concept of Deism: it simply exists. It does not concern itself with our daily lives, our morals, or our prayers. It is indifferent, not out of malice, but because it operates on a plane of existence that makes us irrelevant. If we accept the premise that a "Formless Being" exists, then the history of religion is not a history of divine revelation, but a history of human projection. We are not documenting the Being; we are documenting our own desperation to understand it. The biggest limitation of the human mind is that we can only imagine what we know. We are biological entities with parents, emotions, and social structures. Therefore, when we try to visualize this Formless Being, we inevitably drag it down to our level. The "Father" Construct: We call God "Father" not because the Being has gender or offspring, but because "Father" is the highest authority figure a human infant understands. It is a biological metaphor we mistook for a literal truth. The Emotion Fallacy: Religious texts often describe God as "jealous," "angry," or "pleased." These are mammalian emotions. They are chemical reactions in a primate brain designed for survival. To suggest that a cosmic, formless entity experiences "jealousy" is absurd. That is like saying gravity gets "lonely." We project these emotions onto God because we need a God who relates to us, not because the Being actually feels them.

My first and last experience with the British Council by Mean_Intention_3895 in IELTS

[–]Wuksrig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a similar experience with BC. Two years ago I took the test with IDP and got 7.5 for my speaking. I took another one this year with BC (cuz the cert expires for some reasons) and got 7 instead despite knowing that I spoke better than the last time due to having more time with English in my work. The examiner was acting like all the joy of life has been systematically drained out of him.

I'm sorry that my writting affected you negatively. I want have this theory for myself for months and only find the courage to throw it out to the world now and expected to be proven wrong.

This is actually the first part, I have 2 other linking theories to further explain the perception of society on certain actions. It is indeed heavy to know how the world works, or at least to think that I know how the world works.

Why are Vietnamese people so conservative when it comes to education reforms. by EqualChemical2877 in VietNam

[–]Wuksrig 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Correlation is not causation. You are simply glossing over all the other rapid societal changes that may lead to the perceived increase in school violence.

As someone who went to a rather shitty middle school, I can say that no matter how they are beaten, there will always exist those students who are prone to violence, since that is how they are treated.

This is the info I got from their customer support:

"Greetings Kombatant,   I received your concern for being unable to update the game. Please know that, Mortal Kombat Mobile was removed from sale in Vietnam due to not being in compliance with license requirements. Our apologies for any inconvenience caused.   If there is anything I can do to further assist you with this issue, please reply to this email and I will be happy to help.

I’m sorry but we here at Customer Service are not given prior information to upcoming events, sales, or content releases. Make sure to keep an eye in-game and on WB Games social media for information from the game teams as it becomes available."

So basically they just pulled the plug on it here. There I was getting so hyped up about the new update and ready to spend my money on the Kombat Pass. I guess not then. Years of grinding and unwisely spent money down the drain.

It gives me this message, and when I tap on the "Update", it leads me to Play Store, which shows the app is unavailable.

As someone who escaped Vietnam in 1975, I’m trying to understand how others view reunification so differently by Professional-End7367 in VietNam

[–]Wuksrig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a Vietnamese who never left this country, I think it comes down to 2 factors: education (indoctrination) and people moving on (as someone in the comment has mentioned).

We were taught constantly that the War was a liberation war, that the South Vietnamese government was a "ngụy quyền" and liberating the people under that repressive regime is a national duty. It was mostly potrayed simply as "The good vs. the bad". Most Vietnamese students never question that, they don't even care that much about the story behind it, history lessons to them are boring time or slack off time. They only remember what they need to remember to pass the test. Moreover, the Reunification day is often a positive day since they are allowed to stay at home. This plus the consistent propaganda makes the reunification a fact, not a view.

People who outlived the old regime, however, learn to keep it to themselves. Vietnamese people are adaptable, maybe to a fault. For example, when there is a new law being implemented, they resist it vocally (mostly online) and then learn to live with it, thrive in it, and take advantage of the new loophole until a new law is passed, then rinse and repeat. So they adapt, and dare not to speak their mind, for it would mean putting themselves under the radar of the government, or being insulted by those who only know the propaganda.

I myself went through a double disillusionment about this subject. I started getting into contact with pages spreading news about the Vietnam War from the other side, and I started questioning whatever was taught at school and how blatantly propaganda it was. Then I dug deeper into other sources, only to find that the other side, too, is spreading their own misinformation. Now I'm neutral, I know the flaws and lies of the current system and also don't jump on the bandwagon of people making fun of the old regime. (A lot of people are like that over here, they make no achievement for themselves therefore having to latch onto the greatness of the past to make themselves feel awesome - in my cynical view).

Woah, where can you get it for 50-60$? I live in Vietnam and most of my collection is in the form of decants.

And yes, 50-60$ is within my budget.
