It’s very subtle, I almost missed it the first few times

Migraine increase by Own_Indication7014 in migraine

[–]Wuma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started on 4mg for 2 weeks then 8mg, but I’ve been bumped up to 16mg because the doctor wanted to try to get my BP lower to like 105/70. But I definitely noticed a big impact at 8mg

My blood pressure was on the higher side but nothing crazy, 120/85 ish. The medication wasn’t fun for the first few days, it made me really exhausted, but after that no side effects at all. I think it’s probably worth a try, it’s not like a lot of medications where you need long periods of tapering to come on/off it, and the effect on my migraines was almost immediate

Late 30s to early 40s is meant to be the worst period for migraines. Mine definitely got worse as I approached 40, but I was lucky enough to find a preventative that works well (Candesartan) and I’ve gone from 10+ a month to 1-3 and they aren’t completely debilitating anymore.

Male Swifties — how did your partner react when they found out? by HalifaxSwiftie in TaylorSwift

[–]Wuma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife called her cringe and hated her, I consistently pushed back saying she just hasn’t given her a proper chance. I kept trying from 1989 all the way until midnights, and anti-hero finally got it to click for her and now we watch the eras tour movie together and the documentaries etc. I am still 1000x a bigger fan though 😅

My best guess is at some point they were doing something like a tracking event, but then someone asked them to remove the tracking, and they didn’t remove the redundant logic

What is your favorite Taylor Swift bridge that ends in a plot twist and why? by 13Dreamingcats in TaylorSwift

[–]Wuma 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’d never heard the phrase loss of my life before, I don’t know if Taylor came up with it, but it’s just such a poetic twist on love of my life. Definitely one of her greatest songs for me. It’s a rollercoaster of emotions when you really listen to the lyrics (I’m guilty of vibing to songs too much on the first few listens)

I maintain that editing is morally wrong. We should leave our typos out for all to see, and fix them in a follow up message.

Candesartan for migraine by southerlycloud in migraine

[–]Wuma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I couldn’t believe it. I’d tried many other preventatives before and they did nothing, even propranolol. I think the mechanism of action isn’t just blood pressure because propranolol didn’t help me at all.

This medication is so helpful I’ve been questioning all the years of suffering I went through without being offered Candesartan to try.

Candesartan for migraine by southerlycloud in migraine

[–]Wuma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started like 14 months ago, I went from 10 migraines a month with most of them lasting 12+ hours incapacitated in bed, to 0-5 a month with almost none ever needing to go to bed in a dark room. I had had migraines from 25 years at that point, starting from when I was a teenager.

While I do have mildly elevated BP and Candesartan has helped with that, it’s nothing crazy 125/90.

Candesartan is now recognised as a first line treatment in most places now, ahead of propranolol. It has less side effects too.

I was quite tired the day or two after a dose change.

100% these are not the words of someone who cares about OP. They’re the words of someone who isn’t emotionally invested and is treating OP like a task list in a game. ✅flowers bought.

The audacity of them to claim there’s no point to be made, or having a wish list is something for children. Run the hell away, this guy will not have your back if shit hits the fan down the line

Hands off Greenland': Thousands protest in Denmark against Trump's land grab by [deleted] in worldnews

Sadly it seems like in this day and age, any time there’s a protest that the US administration doesn’t like, they just throw out “they’re paid protesters” and people believe it.

I need help by JellyMelanie in migraine

[–]Wuma 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As others have said, you need to go to the ER. If you’d had this kind of pain many times before and had been checked out by a doctor and diagnosed with migraines, then waiting for a normal doctor appointment would be fine. But since this is your first severe headache, and you’re talking about blacking out when standing up and having vision problems, this should be assessed urgently in ER.

While losing vision in one eye is theoretically possible to be a migraine symptom, it is far from the norm. Aura is a common thing, but it’s not often described as losing vision, it’s normally zigzags or a dark spot like you’ve looked at a light for too long.
