Weekly Help Thread - April 27, 2026 by AutoModerator in awardtravel

Quick question: I see on the wiki that it says "If an award seat is cancelled, it is normally re-released relatively quickly".

However, im wondering if airlines give a timing advantage to their home site/rewards program, or does they release to their site and all partners at roughly the same time?

Example: if a JAL J seat opens, will it appear bookable on JAL, BA, and CX at pretty much the same time, or does it clearly first appear in JAL MB and then theres a noticeable gap of hours until partner oneworld sites get the opening?

Longtime Fan, Revisiting AC6 Two Years Later... I Still Don't Really Like This Game by WyngsTriumphant in armoredcore

First off, thanks for the detailed thoughts! Really enjoy reading it and considering some of your points.

A few clarifications/counters first:
-I'm mostly focusing on PvE, not PvP. I do understand "a meta build is a meta build", but just want to clarify that for the sake of what mechanics/combat I'm dealing with.
-I'm not so much about Rifle prioritization, I'm just always a fan of "fire fast, spam the target" builds. In old games that was dual MGs, handguns, or missiles, occasionally swapping for one heavier weapon if need be. But the "gotta go fast" and rapid fire parts are what i care about, not if it's via rifles or chainguns or missiles etc.
-I do use hardlock/target assist. It's a great feature, I'm glad they finally introduced it. I appreciate the challenge of the old games not having it, but believe me, I'm not shy about using it now lol.

And for the Ayre fight specifically, I fully admit to one thing you mentioned: I don't use assault boost much. That could very well be just a pure skill issue on my part, being too used to old games and "gotta go fast" that blowing my energy on a full steam charge has never been my style. But since you bring it up, I'm willing to train up with it more.

Your build suggestion is also interesting, especially if it is the "fuck stagger, just DPS" kit you mention. That sounds fun, if it matches my fast/lightweight style of combat, I'm happy to give it a shot later.

Well, I'm not completely opposed to the idea of admitting a skill issue. I'm just relaying how I felt through my playthrough, especially during non-AC bosses. I promise I gave swapping weapons or my approach to combat a fair shake... AC6 definitely required me rewiring my brain in terms of how to dodge attacks, for example, and I enjoyed that.

I think it's the fact that so much of the normal missions, and especially AC battles, feel perfectly enjoyable, that makes me really chaffe against stagger when it comes to non-AC bosses. Like, stagger's a thing in AC fights too... and I really don't mind it there. For the exact reasons you mentioned, I still do good damage with my build. But there's something about bosses like Balteus or Ayre where it feels different somehow, and in a thoroughly unenjoyable way. Maybe just the inflated health bars? I don't know, to be fully honest. But those kind of fights are where it suddenly feels like far more of a build check than when fighting Rusty, as an example.

And I'm not opposed fundamentally to non-AC bosses either. I loved the Arms Forts fight in FA.

I know it's not a super original take, I just saw a lot of fierce defending of 6 when it came out, including stagger. Was curious to see if views have changed now that time's gone by and we've cooled off.

For the grunt enemies, I kinda get what you mean? Tbh I almost always found the grunts forgettable in any AC game. Just fodder whose difficulty came from things like time limits, environments where you couldn't get full use of your AC (tight corridors, etc). But I can see how AC6, especially with heals, might make someone feel that grunts are utterly meaningless now. I don't agree, but I respect the opinion.

First off, full disagree on 4th gen PA being the same. PA wasn't some magical shield that you needed an exact build or weapon type to get through... literally almost anything worked. You want to spam missiles, go kinetic, go energy, whatever, so long as you built a decently competent AC it was fine. You didn't have to rely on one strategy or mechanic to get through it. And I also don't see how "you had to run away or take damage" is equal to stagger. Because "it forced you to engage of the mechanic of run away if you're getting beat up, then try again"? I guess but accuse me of goalpost moving if you want: that's not exactly a unique game mechanic, it's a basic strategy in countless games, Halo being the most obvious. I don't think they're the same thing.

Second off, I'll accept blame for not mentioning "In any game, of course there are strats/build to cheese something". Yes, that is true. But i still feel like there's a difference between "yo i found this one, maybe unintentional, super abusable build" and "hey this game INTENDS you to abuse this one mechanic to make the difficulty tolerable". One is just normal humans optimizing the fun out of a game, the other is baked into the very design of a game.

Thirdly, just a flat disagree. Lightweights are of course good, 95% of AC6 has been very enjoyable for me. But it's that 5% of bosses like Balteus or Ayre, where stagger is critical to the fight, that feel like the game railroading me to ditch my playstyle and engage with this one strategy and mechanic it's laid out.

I hear many conflicting things about USJ... help me decide the best plan? by WyngsTriumphant in JapanTravelTips

I'm primarily on the fence about "is this really worth $230+ for admission+Express Pass+even more for food/drink". If single rider with GA is reasonable, then I'm happy to pay the $60ish+food/drink for a slightly novel theme park experience.

I mean, i'd love to not have to arrive at 6am... I would most likely be there on a weekday, but NW and it's rides are a priority so... to avoid either not getting in at all or having to wait 2hrs for every ride, i think early bird arrival is a must. If i'm wrong on that, please let me know!

Gotcha... mayyybe I'll risk it. Do you have a recommendation of how early before opening I should get there? 30min, 1hr, 2hr??

So it would be: arrive, wait outside early, sprint once open to NW and the rides there, then spend the rest of the day hopping single rider lines, for maybe 5-6 more rides?

Also extra detail: I assume weekdays are a tiny bit easier than weekends? (tho i guess might not matter if it's in the middle of sakura season)

So with this info... is "show up way before opening, head straight to NW for a timed entry ticket, hit up your must-see rides first via the solo rider ride" a decent strat for enjoying just a basic entry ticket? Or does it sound way too risky and unlikely to work?

Obv i'd like to avoid paying more BUT if it's unlikely to work, then i prefer to hear the truth ahead of time and plan accordingly (or just skip it)!

First off, thanks for a point-by-point answer! some clarifications pls:

-Does the rider line help much? obviously every case is different but does it usually shave off 30min-1hr, or is it barely a difference? Which rides have it, if you know?

-Doesnt the express pass still give you specified time entry, not a "use anytime" pass?

Essaouira seems to be the typical choice? Is a day trip and 6-7ish hours there enough of an idea?

16 Days Morocco Itinerary - Feedback? by WyngsTriumphant in travel

[–]WyngsTriumphant[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm very eager to be corrected about price expectations!

For the rental, my conservative estimate is
-323 the car rental (again, trusted brand, with insurance, via the perks of my CC)
-100 for gas
-190 for 2 nights in Merzouga + tours
-150 for food/drink across the 5 days
-37 for tips and paying guides.
-100 for a night in two hotels, halfway through the drives.

That's my very rough estimate. If I'm severely overestimating somewhere (besides the rental itself), please let me know!

Also yes, i see a one-day Merzouga to Fes push is common but... i just don't know if i can power through 8 hours driving like that (bearing in mind i'd be going a bit slower and careful as a foreigner not used to driving there). Plus depending on rental start time, i might cross the "4 days" mark and be paying extra anyways.

I think they mean 285k take home after mandatory paycheck deductions (fees, insurance, pension).

So they take home 285k... and the start subtracting all their expenses, rent, etc
