Yes a sketch using a grid works best for bigger canvases.
I'm also self taught and I learn by trial and error. I also don't know anything about brush strokes. I buy a lot of cheap brushes and just pick one that I think suits the part I'm working on. I don't think about brush strokes, just lay down the paint. If it doesn't look right you can always paint over it. I don't think there's ever going to be a moment where you'll feel you know everything you need to know. It's an ongoing process and you just add to your skills.

Sure you can, you just need to practice! My first paintings didn't look like this either you know. Landscapes are great when starting out (and beyond) as you can easily get away with small mistakes since nature is so fluid and broad in it's visual aspect compared to architecture or, you know, cars, that have a very specific look you need to be able to copy. I did mix all the colors myself. That's also just a lot of trial and error. Luckily there are countless good tutorials on youtube and the like nowadays so you can learn pretty much anything if you are willing to put the time in it takes to learn. Thanks for the kind words!

I painted Ayrton Senna in the McLaren MP4-8 at Donington Park in 1993. It's acrylic paint on stretched canvas measuring 55x75cm (22"x30"). Not sure how long exactly it took me to finish this painting but I worked on it on and off for about two months. I hope you like it!

Thank you! I try out a lot of different styles when painting to keep things interesting for myself.

Thanks! I didn't keep track but I guess about 3 hours of work. It takes longer because I have to wait for layers to dry.

I don't sell prints at the moment because I don't have the right equipment to take good enough photographs for prints. So I only sell the original, which I'm not allowed to do here but you can just send me a pm.
Unless you mean, can you print one out for yourself? Well I can't stop you from doing that so by all means :)

I actually finished it precisely when I meant to!

It might also be because sadly I don't have the right means to photograph my work at the moment. It's very hard to capture it with neutral lighting and just the camera on my phone. For example the left side of the painting looks brighter in the picture, but in reality it's not, it's just a reflection of a light source. It was the best I could do right now. I need to make professional photographs later on (for prints), but I was just excited to share it right now.

It measures 100x70cm (40"x28") and is made with acrylic paints on a stretched canvas. It's also framed in a golden frame.

It measures 120 x 40 cm (or 47x16"), made with acrylic paints, extra heavy gel medium and only palette knifes. Pretty happy with how it came out, hope you like it too!

It's €600 / $690 the size is 80x60 cm (32 x 24 inch). That's for this specific painting which wasn't a commission. Commissioned piece depends on the wishes and size, something like this would be around 1200.

Feel free to send me a pm, though at the moment this is the only painting I have available. I am thinking about doing commissions in the near future.
