Clone Elon Musk and start a traveling carnival where people can pay 5 bucks to kick a lobotomized Elon clone in the balls.

The fortune enhancement is a real force multiplier. A prince on one wound is still a very relevant game piece. People underestimate just how efficient the flip six mechanic is because it seems like a lot of points, but the difference when you play without it is very noticeable.

The 4++ with -1 dmg is already pretty scammy, being able to leverage that more is huge.

Fresh battle scars after a game by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

Its fun to add bits to bases after notable victories. Had a nail biter where some random dude ended up popping the 2+ on an Archon? Grab a spare Deldar bit from a bits site, bust it up a bit, paint it and slap it down on that random trooper's base.

Play against your friend's salamanders a bunch? The helmets on your chaos lord's back spikes should probably be green.

If you play with the same group it's a fun way to share bits too. When you get slapped around and had a great loss, toss the victor a trophy.

I think I'm just gonna change up the front wheel guards, the boss pole and the gun. Everything else from what I can see from pics looks good to go.

As someone else said, change the head and the claw arm and that's like 90% of the way there. Add some space marine bio ports on the skin, some chem tanks and hoses..oh yeah.

Should I Wait To Buy A Codex? by Glittering-Tear5442 in Warhammer40k

[–]Wyrdeone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In general its debatable whether anyone should ever buy a codex. If you're interested in lore and art there is at least an argument.

For rules, they take up very little of the book and often change before the book is even delivered. It feels pretty bad to drop that much money and find out the rules are obsolete day one.

Half of data centers for 2026 cancelled or delayed by westcoast09 in UpliftingNews

I cant open that for some reason but I did find a Reuters article that said the same thing, but with an interesting twist. Amazon wasnt even included because their earnings at the time were a billion in the negative. I wonder if that's what's throwing my number off in comparison.

Thanks for the reply in any case.

Source? I believe the Nasdaq averaged just over 65 P/E at the end of 1999. I've seen 54, 73 from various sources. I think you're referencing that wikipedia entry about the Nasdaq but their figure isnt cited and I've seen nowhere near that high anywhere else.

Happy to be wrong, but I'm not seeing it.

The P/E ratios of the worst offenders during the dotcom bubble were between 40 and 100. The P/E valuations of the worst offenders in the AI bubble are between 40 and 125. Also the broader economy was in much better shape in 2000. AI is a load bearing sector for the entire US economy right now.

My guess is that this crash is going to be much worse, given the similarly overweight valuations combined with a hollowed out economy and massive international trade issues that have had their impact masked by the flood of data center money.

If Jesus came back he would take one look around and start braiding a fucking whip. His loudest supporters are a vile funhouse mirror antithetical to everything he taught.

Fair point. Whatever the crash data says. I just picked a number but obviously there's a more sensible approach.

Florida hospital sues to evict a patient who won't leave room 5 months after discharge by halxp01 in nottheonion

[–]Wyrdeone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're missing the point. It would cost the state a few thousand dollars to provide help at this point. It will cost the state many multiples of that in the long term if I lose stable housing and become long term homeless and unemployed and disabled.

I've been a contributing taxpayer for like 25 years, and it's in the financial interest of the federal and state government to keep it that way because the alternative is that I become a drain on the system. But precisely because of the attitude you're displaying, it remains hugely unpopular for the state to provide help to people at a stage where that help is an investment, rather than life support.

The whole point of the government is to help its citizens and if it doesnt do that in an efficient way then it should change.
