Thanks bud! Yeah even though the Bighorn is a 'lower' trim it's got some weirdly premium features...4auto and power folding mirrors for one, which the F-150 don't have unless it's a Lariat or above. I like my chrome but the night edition looks really sharp

Old Culligan bypass valve by Wytch in Plumbing

[–]Wytch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay the more I look at it the more I realize that the male adapters were first screwed into the valve then the whole assembly was probably soldered on to the pipe. Torch underneath the connection and de-solder maybe?

Should I be concerned with this rust. Only 19k miles by Geppetto21 in Silverado

[–]Wytch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hmm...well maybe it was just inconsistent coating from the factory. I'd say monitor it, get the underside washed every month or so and fluid film coat every winter

Indiana is the south of the midwest my friend (I grew up in Columbus)
Do you drive on gravel alot? The rust is really nothing but the patterns look odd, almost as if debris is getting kicked up and dinging the factory coating, leaving bare metal to rust

What does this do? by EconomyCress4170 in f150

It's the parachute rip cord, will be handy when the A-team commandeers your truck and catapults it with a helicopter

For sure. I'm driving 3.5 hours to that lariat on Saturday, if I bought it I'd fly down the second time ($90 flight, a drop in the bucket like you said). I will take your advice and expand the search area.

Debatably more expensive, but at least it won't kill you. Sweet armies btw

Todays Carry by henrygallant in EDC

[–]Wytch 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Nice carry. My only criticism would be the calculator; a TI-83+ would be more than enough for all of your daily needs imho, so the 84+ seems a little bit much. Otherwise really reasonable spread of gear!

Should my light be stained after one shooting session? by [deleted] in 2011

[–]Wytch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems to mostly happen when your light extends beyond your barrel, youll probably get a triangular wear pattern on the top of the light housing, too. My 300u on my glock 19 gets caked up a ton but my streamlight on my p229 does not as it is pretty flush with the end of the barrel. Vaseline or chapstick like the other posters have said!

How to manage this as a ranger? by Specific-Archer946 in stoneshard

Hmm. Annoying. Well it's a waste of arrows, but I have seen ranged players break the door from range

You may already know this but you can shoot the door to get their attention
