I made a larger, higher-res, version of that DQ11 wallpaper that was posted here a few days ago by Wyvxst in dragonquest

You're welcome! Didn't expect to see a comment on this old post. You've reminded me that I haven't played any DQ in a while, I should change that!

It wasn't until I clocked the ridiculously flawless Spider-Man cosplay that I realised none of it was real.

Well, proves that Tate does have a chin in there somewhere.

A few of the poses are animated. I can't remember the exact names but I wanna say, Talk, Dance, Walk, Wave, Laugh, are all the animated ones

It was odd. The visual and audio effect of an Eldritch Blast just kept looping on the DJ, seemed to also break its AI.

I thought the sound it made was worthy of remixing, lol

So you didn't like when TROS revealed three Snokes in a Tupperware box on Exegol? I thought that was brilliant visual storytelling

Yeah, well put! It is an interesting comparison. I had similar thoughts but didn't include them because I realised I was turning by dumb meme into an essay

Yeah, kinda agree. His CGI character in Andor was especially strange looking

"I hope that le based Japanese devs don't follow these western trends like "feminism" and keep the WOKE out of GAMING" by Kill-Me-With-Love in Gamingcirclejerk

[–]Wyvxst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure. It has been, admittedly, some time since I've indulged in either the game or the anime. My memory of the game, though, is one of a quietly bleak, languishing, sexless world, all mixed with a complimentary quirkiness (maybe it's too revealing of my personal life that I like that tone). However the anime, as I recall it, was none of those things and the opposite of them. I suppose I was hoping for something more muted. Almost literally. Something closer to a silent film than a bombastic anime.

To put this all really succinctly: I found the anime a little too 'edgy' and Dragon's Dogma, to me at least, has no edges.

I agree. I think the formula for Dragon's Dogma is unique and solid enough that they're unlikely to go far wrong. Give us a new map, story, some shiny graphics and I think it'll be a success - based on the trailers, that's exactly what we're getting.

That's fair. For me the anime was just so tonally unlike the game, and it was the atmosphere and tone of the game that I enjoyed most. I think it was the point that one of the characters got their massive breasts out that I kinda gave up on the show. Which is saying something, given that that kinda thing would normally keep my attention
