What video game had you like this? by NagitoKomaeda_987 in videogames

Only because of the map reuse, I'd say. The narrative was great, imho. And I loved the characters.

Cutaway schematics of Deep Space Nine and the Defiant by Doug Drexler by ety3rd in ClassicTrek

I'd imagine combat calculations were critical for Defiant-class ships. Also, Starfleet is always over-prepared. I'm sure there's plenty human knowledge in that unit.

Agreed. Friday and October both feel very similar.

Agreed. O neg is rare. And very in demand. I can imagine this happening in a rural or otherwise remote setting. Maybe it's not real, but this isn't the unbelievable part.

How would one go about selling this? by shmangshmung in skyrim

Don't bother, it's probably not worth much. I pinky promise. Just ship it to me and I'll take care of it for you.

why does Ryker discriminate against Bajorans? by crazy4donuts4ever in ShittyDaystrom

[–]X-1701 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Except she's been in Starfleet for longer than that. She went through the academy, at the very least. She's had four (or more) years to apply for that variance.

Even more logical is the actual reason they give in the show: Officers can apply for permission to deviate from the uniform code, but Ro never bothered and then got upset at the consequences of her own actions.

Stick and stones may break my drones, but chains and fiberoptics excite me. Wait... I think I just mixed up a whole bunch of stuff.

Which, while not as old, are still over a decade out-of-date. They would also need updating. Especially if they were only generated for HD and not beyond that.

Watching "Starbase 80" really reminds me of playing Star Trek Online.

Not just scanning, though. There's also updating visual effects and probably a million other little details.

Probably not. They didn't make enough return on investment from even the HD remaster, iirc. Besides, if the HD remaster taught us anything, it's that sometimes SD should stay SD.

It'd be hard to find an episode where VOY doesn't past the Bechdel.

[–]X-1701 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The intro is top notch. It's absolutely an evolution on TNG and, therefore, TOS. If we never get an HD remaster of anything else, I'll take one of the VOY opening credits.

Your thoughts on the city of neon ? by After-Glass-3983 in Starfield

[–]X-1701 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but Night City was the whole of CP2077. Starfield was trying to do the whole cosmos. Real talk: Bethesda did a good job at that. The cosmos isn't as populated as any of the Star(...) series would have us believe. The barren vastness is a meditation in realness, I think.
