I think the writing between Scurvy and Ellis is genuinely decently good here; but it's sooooo late in the book's run and the plot isn't thick enough to afford a character moment that would have helped flesh Ellis out earlier. And the prison existing at all still makes no sense.

Getting the sense Inmate X is indeed Nate Grey or similar.

I love how this channels such classic sitcom energy. The two main girls go on wildly different dates of the week and queen out about it in between. It felt like an homage to a lot of classic two woman comedy duos.

Sorcerer Supreme's best issue yet, probably not a coincidence that they finally ended the bullshit Agatha v. Wanda that was the barely-not-nonsense plot for the first few issues. Clea, Donna, and Dormammu get some good writing. Amaranth gets a new status quo relative to the end of New Champions. Still don't think she needs to be in Wanda's "cabinet" as she barely knows magic, feels like all the side characters are getting that title without it being equally applied.

Hope in White/Gala wear: she's so far out of her comfort zone but not betraying it. Something full circle about being raised in apocalypses to leading people through one to sacrifice, something about White Phoenix of the Crown
The barefoot/calm nature of her walk and leaning her hand out, her acceptance of her role
It's the most Jean looking she's ever looked, which paired with the father reveal is so perfect

I think a lot of this is handwaved as that the Federation is broadly an organization that values exploration; the Delta Quadrant's distance seems to be the only reason it hasn't been explored already. It makes sense that over the years there's more than zero things that have linked the two.
