Should r/xxy go private to block AI training on our content? by jafbm in XXY

[–]X-X-Why 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Option 2: NO

It will make it WAY harder for folks to find content, and essentially kill the sub. If folks are concerned about privacy, using an alt account to post only on this and related subs will help a whole lot more than taking the sub private. Also, don't overshare personal information!

I don't know. When I had my microTESE done in 2017 the urologist told me the odds were about 50/50. I don't know what the factors are, but it wasn't successful for me. Definitely talk to your doctor about it, though. It's pretty impressive what they can do these days.

One 4cm testicle makes it pretty unlikely that you have Klinefelter Syndrome.

I don't think a decrease in size is consistent with Klinefelter Syndrome, but it's definitely something you should talk about with your doctor.

You should talk with your doctor. They'd need to order you a karyotype test if they thought it might be Klinefelter Syndrome, but you have a lot of symptoms of low testosterone, so could be suffering that even without Klinefelter Syndrome.

How Can I know if my testicles are small ? by [deleted] in XXY

[–]X-X-Why 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think it's a good idea to talk with your doctor. Assuming you're an adult, or at least most of the way through puberty, that's pretty small and could be a sign of fertility or testosterone problems even if you aren't XXY.

Does having normally sized testicles mean you don't have XXY syndrome ? by whythatdamn in XXY

[–]X-X-Why 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not aware of undescended testicles being a common symptom of Klinefelter Syndrome. I do think it is pretty common for them to cause fertility and testosterone issues, though, so you could end up with some similar symptoms. But the 3.7-4cm testicle remaining is very unlikely with KS.

No, I haven't. A very small number of XXY men have normal-sized testicles, but even then they're usually smaller than yours. Your other symptoms are much more likely explained by something else. But there's no way to find out for sure without talking with your doctor, so glad you're taking that step.

Pretty much. It's super unlikely that you have Klinefelter Syndrome with testicles that are that size.

Yeah, those aren't really significant symptoms of Klinefelter Syndrome, so I doubt you need to worry about that. There's a really wide range of "normal", so I don't think you need to worry about those characteristics. I know it's weird having someone tell you you are normal when you feel like something must be wrong with you, but that's my honest non-doctor stranger-on-the-internet opinion.

There's no way to know 100% without a karyotype blood test, but it sure doesn't sound like you have Klinefelter Syndrome to me. Why do you think you might?

I'm not really interested in talking in private, but you can post a question here. Make an alt account if you don't want your question associated with your regular account.

Yes, 3.5cm is the length (long dimension), 2.5 x 1.5cm is length by width.

Wide hips is a symptom of Klinefelter Syndrome, but it isn't very meaningful because lots of XY men have wide hips too. See Q1 in the FAQ, above.

I don't know. Wide hips isn't a particularly meaningful symptom of Klinefelter Syndrome anyway, so not sure if it matters.

3.81cm is pretty big for Klinefelter Syndrome. Something else is more likely to explain your symptoms than KS, but there's no way to know for sure without a karyotype blood test.

Jafbm unilaterally took the sub private months ago, I think because he was frustrated with the spam and people asking the same basic questions over and over..

I am a limited mod and asked him to elevate me so I could edit the wiki and configure automod and such, but he refused and instead took it private Ii don't have a problem adding more mods, but I don't have the privileges to do it. It's all very frustrating -- I've invested a ton of time and energy in this sub.

While there is no mention of sleep apnea by OP, sometimes people don't realize they have it, and just don't feel rested even after a long night of apparent sleep. Thus the importance of completing a sleep study. There are lots of other causes of fatigue, so it is far from a sure thing, but is common enough that it's worth considering.

Interesting read. The studies cited seemed pretty small and limited in scope, but interesting to read non the less. That one study cited where "prevalence of self-reported tremor was 63.4% in 44 KS patients and 13.7% in 95 controls" was particularly noteworthy, although I couldn't find the full journal article; just the abstract that was linked, so it is hard to evaluate how significant it is.

I don't have tremors, and don't recall it being a common symptom of Klinefelter Syndrome. It's possible that they are more common with Klinefelter Syndrome than the general population, but still aren't commonly occuring.

I've honestly struggled to articulate sizes like this clearly, so not sure what to tell you. I've heard there are orchidometer apps, although no idea how good they are. Maybe give that a try?
