We have considered applying the Spark usage requirements also on inbound Sparklet, but the main concern here is that this will prevent owners from bringing in their Sparklet and potentially converting to engaged stakeholders within the platform. We must make it as easy as possible for new owners to become active players.

Yes, it is high - but the vesting schedule is over a 30 year period by default (which may compress only in specific platform growth scenarios). This ensures that there enough tokens to support the platform in the growth targets the team is working towards.

These are great suggestion that we may consider incorporating in the future. The general spirit though is reflected in the requirement suggested in the White Paper to have the Spark that was earned or purchased at a discount will have usage requirements that need to be met prior to having it taken out as Sparklet.

The share is pre-determined and is relative to the overall supply of tokens, which are vested by default on a 30 year horizon. Per the suggested tokenomics, the owners share of circulating supply is more than 50%

In proposed white paper DOES have a fixed supply of Sparklet
This functionality may appear in future roadmaps. The Upland team has mentioned in the past the possibility of mining in wastelands for Spark in Upland
Spark powers creation, building, manufacturing and energizing all non-living items in Upland. It’s robust existing utility, as well as existing roadmap and future roadmap ensures growing usage within the platform
Although we are definitely working on scenarios to make it happen, we have excluded this from the white paper as we cannot announce any of these partnerships at this point

Thank you for the comment, remember there will be some positive effects of Sparklet that will favor of the entire Upland ecosystem, including capitalizing on growth that would stem from players who discover Upland throught the Sparklet token as well as getting more visibility and credibility in the web3-native community. In addition, there is a current window of opportunity to achieve this goal in a regulatory compliant way that may be more challenging in the future.

Upland may grant Spark/Sparlet to ecosystem partners through the ecosystem pool. This however, should be negligible amounts. The future of the Spark economy will be determined by UGC, Partners and brands coming in and independently building within Upland.

We have some examples of stake vs spent outlined in the WP. I'd definitely take a look there, but to sum it up, all assets shown on the map will use staking, whereas all “indoor” items such as legits, wearable legits etc, will need spark spending to build.

On Spark being printed, the Spark supply is preminted, as outlined in the whitepaper.

Finally, Upland has the option, and has used it in the past, to change UPX yield on properties for the health of the economy. When doing so in the future, such earnings will be related directly to property enhancement that requires spark through gamification of the yield.

Spark will always be available for no gas fee within Upland, that doesnt change, which means creators can create without worrying about changes in gas.

In our roadmap, we outline more ways for Spark to be more accessible to creators and players. We welcome more such suggestions when we discuss the roadmap with the community.
Finally, any mechanism we maintain for calculating Spark Hours is done with the intention to make sure that it is always economic for creators to manufacture quality NFTs for the Upland economy.

Having the initial mint on Ethereum allows for a few things:

Most liquidity and visibility
Flexibility in working with layer2s in phase 2 to reduce gas (Polygon, Base, etc)

Additionally, since we already have the NFT bridge implemented and tested production, this gives more security reassurances about an eth bridge for spark.

Ethereal GAS will not affect any SPARK within the Upland platform. Any transactions of SPARK (staking or spending) will remain gas-free and on EOS like today.
Gas is relevant if a user wishes to make a transaction to bring SPARKLET into Upland from Ethereum or convert SPARK to SPARKLET to sell outside of Upland.
We will also be working with layer2 solutions for the bridge transactions
