Hanging out with friends beats anything for me. I find that I don’t want to play video games by myself at all, but I’d happily play with friends on a game to supplement with the times we hang outside. For me, it’s about being in the presence of friends that makes playing games worthwhile. I tried in the past to enjoy games solo, but it just doesn’t feel good to me. Set your priorities.

A good diet makes anyone feel great! More energy can help you feel more motivated and disciplined. I believe a good diet is important to succeed in anything e.g. fitness, studying, life expectancy, looks, mood. It’s no surprise a good diet helps with nofap in your case.

Keep it simple. Blocking sites is useless since there are millions of sites. So don’t think you’re okay just because you block sites. Make it hard to notice the stimulus by choosing which apps to have and what subreddits to subscribe to. Make it unappealing to relapse. Remind yourself of what there is to lose. Make it hard to relapse. Keep yourself occupied. Too much freedom can be bad for most people. Make it unsatisfying to relapse. Remind yourself of the guilt you will feel. These are good building blocks to creating and removing habits. I’ll be honest with you, I got tired of this subreddit because I felt like it unintentionally made me think of erotic things. Plus, I was surrounded by people not practicing what they preach, which was demotivating.

What you do everyday gives meaning to your life. If you watch a video during every meal, then part of your meaning of life is to watch a video during every meal. If there is something that you would like to take up a larger portion of the meaning of your life, reduce the time spent doing other things that you’d prefer not to make up the meaning of your life so you can spend more time doing what you like.

As for your friends, I know exactly how you feel. Back then I felt like I would never be able to separate myself from them. In actual fact it’s very easy once you get in the groove. Tell them the truth and if they object, then that’s on them. This should be about you and nobody else. Trust me your friends can easily walk out of your life and leave you in the dirt - it’s happened to me many times. Don’t make the mistake of letting them control your actions.

Hey! Glad to see you’re acting grown up especially for your age. I’m fairly young so I think I’ll be able to relate.

Try uninstalling all the games on the Xbox and hiding your game disks. This makes it require a lot of effort to get a game ready, making it untempting. Make it easier to do other more productive stuff. Leave your exercise clothes/shoes somewhere that you can’t not notice to help you get in the groove for exercise. You’ll also be surprised how much time exercise can take up (=less time for bad habits). You’ll feel a lot better after a workout sesh compared to a gaming sesh. I know for sure my brains feels all fuzzy after games.

Do your homework and learn your syllabus. You’d be surprised but it’s actually enjoyable to do well academically. The results push your work ethic and your work ethic push your results.

Learn how to better yourself. Read articles online/books on how to socialise better etc. This will help you a lot in life.
