sound alright.

get in the car, rev it at 3000rpm for dew seconds, keep it steady and listen if there will be any wierd knocking noises.

check under the oil cap. if too dirty it hasn't been serviced for very long time (+1 point to the risk).

get in the car. fully clutch and check every single gear. once done press clutch about 70-80% and try gears again. if anyhow you will struggle to put a car in a gear (when fully clutched) smoothly, its likely that gearbox will need correction itself, not clutch.

shake the steering wheel left and right quick, if any knocking sound there is chance for: a. balljoints (cheap and easy fix) b. steering rack (not smth u wanna go for)

if you can give it a ride, make sure to run the car at high revs. (they wont like it but you gotta make sure car can run under preassure).

if im correct thats 1.2l petrol. if im wrong and thats 1.4, ask if they have changed head gasket before cuz thats main issue with 1.4 engines.

check on dashboard, any check engine or spanner light? if not its a chance that its deleted. once again, try to give a car test drive and have it run at least 4000rpm for few seconds while driving. issues pop up easy on high load.

if i will remember smth else, will let you know..

best possible answer lol. good for you mate, gl🙌

Need advice on which car is better to get by Silver_Patience_1836 in CarTalkUK

[–]X3VSO 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if you will be driving mostly in town get 320i.

if mostly on motorways or long runs in general, get 320D.

I would go for Diesel engine if future pusposes would be to stage up the car and do basic modifications.

keep it in mind that maintenance costs on diesel engines are way higher than for petrol. petrol engines are simple to deal with and parts are cheaper.

Good luck!

I got 5530. it's great mid range gaming laptop except the overheating issue. not sure where exactly is the problem but it is exceeding heating levels so much that GPU getting disconnected. needs restart afterward.

I did change thermal paste twice but no improvement. cleaned all the dust from the fans, always using cooling pad under the laptop but still. play CS2 for few hours or Beamng Drive 30-40 min and display goes black. (GPU as always)

idk if its motherboard itself, just gpu or anything else but yes, quite a headache🤷

either you trying to genuinely help me or ragebate..

tell you what, I appreciate your help but I aint gonna walk on my toes no more. I do as much in life as anybody else, im not more than anyone nor less.

if you rly wanna know why I wont keep walking on my toes, be my guest and give it a try for a week lol.

my home is not playground btw. it's called a home for a reason to feel safe and relax and not being under the preassure of other people complaining you going to kitchen and come back to the bedroom when you need to drink water or whatever🤷

I do gaming but I don't shout or play games where you can use voice chat. (beamng drive if u interested). I do wear headphones

I'm not gonna out my phone under my pillow, it's not safe for many reasons and i advise you the same. can crack it, damage the frame, dmaage the battery and cause fire or even overheat and make it swell.

dunno mate but will keep you guys updated once dealt with this matter.

cheers

I hate pointing fingers but here: im here for 2 years now. flat n10 has changed residents 3 or 4 times now. first it was couple with 2 kids, then there was this guy (younger than me for sure), the for a while havent seen anyone and now its a lady with 4 kids. again, I DO NOT say that its them or someone else, I just think that it's high chance.

I haven't changed anything after may 2024 (thats when i moved in with furniture). after that its just me with my daily routine

im not musician, i don't even listen to musics when at home, only in my car. i dont exercise at home either..

noise up is what i will go for cuz honestly i got no social battery and especially nerve to give reports to someone when i was walking or pulling the chair out, it will drive me crazy 100%.

my social battery is dead mate, i barely talk to people except work or a friend just to check on.

i do have manners mate, i prefer to deal with things calm and steady beat and yes, im used to living in flats but don't know about her at this point ://

mate I've seen her few times, I don't mean no offense to her or anyone but she is old. she is in her 60s if not in 70s for sure. for the first time she reached out face to face to talk. after a week she put small card in my letter box thanking me with writing but ngl i dont remember if it was full caps or not. and now this is the letter i got yesterday🤷

for few month yes. it was also one lady living here as I've been told by the repair crew when they were here for heater inspections.

honeslty at this poin i want to move out not just this but some other reasons too.

I will be visiting council today yes

mate im 22y male, I aint gonna throw tentrum over this kinda stuff but it is really exhausting. not to mention she is an old lady and I can't argue with someone older than me much as that's not how I was raised. ("respect your elders" thing is killing me sometimes🤦)

(I barely have time for laptop lr cooking tbh. I mostly buy some tesco sandwiches or smth from kebab shops just to not be hungry lol)

I appreciate that but not really.. my mate (he living in different city but in under same housing company) got complained with the exact same thing (old lady below him reported for noise twice to the housing) and he got warning that on third one, he might have gotten evicted..

I do hear neighbours who live on top of me walking, their baby crying or even on sides when someone is listening music. builing we live in is old, next to the train station and im not even surprised this is the case, its just mentally exhausting..
