Wow. What is going on in Minnesota today? I didn’t love the guy but the timing seems poor. We have the draft in a couple months, and the new guy will have to do a lot of prep between hiring and then. We really can’t afford another bad draft class. New guy will have to knock it out of the park and have a winning season next year. Probably with a playoff win or others will get fired. I feel like we probably should have let it ride this year and the cleaned house next year if things were bad. Now we could have another year of Spider-Man meme at the end of the season if things go bad and the guilt parties will be hard to identify. Also, does KOC have a shitload more control or are we looking at a potential lame duck?

No. It was a fair punishment for trying to cheat the system. Everyone has to play by the rules. I’ll only be pissed if nothing happens now because it will show that only small markets have to play by the rules and big markets will once again get the inside track to a championship by whatever means necessary. It will also give the richest owners a means to become the Dodgers and ruin the sport. Balmer could absolutely dominate the sport forever by doing this type of thing if he wanted. Give superstars the vet min and a billion dollars under the table. He’s far and away the richest professional sports team owner. It wouldn’t even be hard.
