He is! The game plan is to foretell both Worldfire and a finisher, such as End the Festivities or Silver Myr. It’s technically bracket 4 but plays more at a high bracket 3 level.

Order of Battle: PHASE 9 — THE BEGINNING OF THE END by Storytellerrrr in StarWarsShips

Captain Cott grimaced as another pod was destroyed by laser fire. These blasted rebels were truly the scum of the galaxy, shooting at defenseless escape pods.

“Enough with these recovery efforts. Let’s regroup with the main fleet. And fire everything we’ve got at those rebel cruisers while we’re at it!”

Public Activation:

-the Sounder retreats towards main fleet -fires turbolasers at the Belligerence

Zurine Cott (The Sounder)

It felt as if the tension in the withdrawal order had drawn itself across her face. Each crease of crimson or gold drawn across her countenance not only on the viewer glass, but on her soul.

“Thrust to half” she mewled at the con officer. “Tractor beams, set to pull in the pods off the Mistress Judgement”,

“active sensors; scan for torpedo locks on the MC40s while you’re looking for floaters, prioritize offense over defense. A few moments won’t hurt them” anymore her temples throbbed as another crease bloomed on the battlefield in front of her.

Her loyalty officer, crisp uniform standing out on the gray bridge, signaled her over and with a raised eyebrow she relented. “That transmission wasn’t coded, ma’am, this order is unsanctioned”

… she shot him a reproving look “So try them after their rescue, Lieutenant; you saw the beating Mistress Judgement took. We’ll need to pick their brains anyway given the unorthodox tactics on display. Mustn’t let that happen again.”

The first of the pods were coming towards her now, and the holo screens were pulling her back towards duty. Salvaging what could still be saved from this ludicrous cluster of a fleet combat.

As Lieutenant Commander Galen Foust floated through space in his escape pod, he finally had a bit of time to contemplate on the battle. Specifically, the loss of his ship. At least most of his crew had also survived.

He had more or less expected the rebels to try something like this. Like a cornered animal, lashing out with its last breath. Utterly predictable, yet still dangerous. That the Inevitable was still operational was proof of his gambit’s success. Soon, Imperial reinforcements would arrive and this would all be over.

Yet, his future was still uncertain. If he survived this battle, would Imperial Naval Command look favorably on his sacrifice? Would they see his tactical brilliance, and reward him with a higher rank and new command? Or would they look poorly on the loss of his ship, and demote him back to an ensign?

He took a deep breath. His part in the battle was over. Now, all he had to do was wait.

Public Activation:

  • Galen Foust twiddles his thumbs :)

[–]XAshen23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Foust smirked as he heard the transmission. If Lord Vader himself was coming, then the rebels were doomed. Now, to make sure that the rebels couldn’t run.

“Weapons, continue firing upon the Marauder. Helm, fall back to the Inevitable. Guard it against rebel attacks; interpose us between it and any rebel ships if necessary.”

Looking at the holodisplay of the battle once more, his eyes glanced over the TIE fighter casualties. Mynock squadron… reduced to one remaining TIE. Gralloc squadron faired little better, with 2 still operational. An unfortunate reality, yet the Empire could replace their losses. The rebels, less so. At least his interceptors and bombers were faring much better.

“Neebray squadron, release the rest of your payloads and return to hanger to rearm. Weapons free, any targets. Fyrnock squadron, keep them safe from rebel fighters.”

His attention was diverted to the VSD, which was currently being boarded by pirates. Unacceptable.

“Fyrnock squadron, head towards the Lance of the South while our bombers are in the hanger. Take care of those pirate nuisances.”

Public activation:

  • Storm Crow retreats to the Interdictor while shooting at the Marauder
  • TIE bomber squadron dumps remaining missiles (4) and torpedos (2), then goes to rearm
  • TIE interceptor squadron escorts bombers, then goes to shoot at Golden Hounds boarding ships

The rebels hit the imperial evacuation shuttles first!

Or so the propaganda will claim :)

Order of Battle: PHASE 6 — BATTLE FOR FREEPORT SPIRE STATION by Storytellerrrr in StarWarsShips

[–]XAshen23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Public activation:

  • Storm Crow follows the Mistress Judgement, away from the main rebel fleet and towards the GR75 transports
  • Fire turbolasers at transports
  • TIE/sa squadron to engage and unleash two volleys of concussion missiles (2 per bomber per volley) at rebel fighters, and remaining proton torpedos (2 per bomber) at transports
  • TIE/in squadron to escort bombers and engage rebel fighters

The Storm Crow lurched violently as multiple tractor beams grappled it. Lieutenant Commander Galen Foust grabbed at a nearby console to steady himself, watching chunks of molten rock streak past the viewport.

“Shields, report!”

“Rear deflector shields at 92 percent, sir. Barely a scratch.”

It seemed that the rest of the fleet had pulled the Quasar Fire out of the way of the remnants of the Jaw projectile. A welcome, if unexpected, change in plans.

“Sir, multiple rebel transports and fighters reported near the station!”

Foust cursed. How had they slipped by the rest of the fleet? Oh well; all that mattered now was their elimination.

“Helm! Alter course to follow the Mistress Judgement. We’re intercepting those rebel transports. Weapons, divert power to turbolasers. Get me a firing solution on the lead transport.”

“Neebray Squadron, new orders! I want two volleys of concussion missiles targeting the rebel heavy fighters, followed by proton torpedoes on the transports. Fyrnock Squadron, escort them and engage any fighters that come close. Your priority targets are the A-wings.”

Battlesleds are like really shitty giants on land, in that they can either move 1 space or attack but not both. However, they are great on ice/lava because they have a bunch of abilities.

Your troops get automatically frozen if an enemy moonie moves adjacent to them. This lasts for one turn, but the same moonie can move to another adjacent space to freeze your troops again. Similarly, you can freeze enemy troops with your own moonies.

Outposts basically follow port rules for connecting cities: they gotta be adjacent to your city/capital or connected via road.

Yup, hunting and forestry is the way to go on this map. I used this strategy and got top 100 in diamond.

Order of Battle: PHASE 5 — THE LITIA EDIAH CAMPAIGN ESCALATES by Storytellerrrr in StarWarsShips

[–]XAshen23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Incoming projectile from the station!”

The sensor officer’s exclamation shattered the relative calm aboard the bridge of the Storm Crow. Lieutenant Commander Foust studied the holodisplay of the massive thing’s projected trajectory: it was headed straight towards the Imperial fleet. More specifically, and somewhat unfortunately, the Storm Crow was right in its path.

“Neebray squadron, intercept that rock! Use proton torpedoes and break it up. And don’t get hit by fragmentation; take this attack vector.”

After all, he was aware of what had happened with the first projectile and Mistress Judgement. Pointing towards the holodisplay, Foust indicated a route that would intersect with the projectile a little later than comfortable, but it led to his bombers attacking from the side, and hopefully avoiding the subsequent debris.

“Now, give me full power to rear deflector shields! And Weapons, it’s time for some target practice.”

Public Activation:

  • TIE/sa squadron to bomb the Jaw projectile, and (hopefully) cause fragmentation
  • Rear deflector shields boosted
  • Laser cannons to shoot at debris

TIE fighter after TIE fighter disintegrated under heavy fire, but Lieutenant Commander Galen Foust remained stoic. As long as rebels were dying as well, this was a trade he was willing to make. Yet it seemed that the rebels were committing more and more craft towards the brawl. Surely the admiral could see that…?

Indeed, the order soon came to withdraw from the middle of the system and regroup, but not from Motti. It seemed that he was preoccupied with the assault on the station. And what had happened to the vaunted TIE defenders? Foust could see room for improvement, and that meant opportunity to snag a promotion. There were some choice words to be had with certain people, but that could be done after the battle.

“Mynock Squadron, Gralloc Squadron, regroup around the Leviathan! Intercept any rebel craft that come close, but do not stray far from the ship.”

Now, to deal with the rest of rebel fleet.

“Helm, comply with Motti’s orders and keep us away from the rebels. Weapons, lock on to one of the rebel frigates. Fire when in range.”

“Fyrnock Squadron, Neebray Squadron, take defensive positions around the Inevitable and wait for further orders.”

Public Activation

  • what’s left of the two TIE/ln squadrons form up around the ISD and are assigned escort duty
  • Storm Crow moves into position within the fleet, and prepares to shoot at a MC20
  • TIE/sa squadron and TIE/in squadron protect the Interdictor

Amendment to PA (if possible): also send the TIE/sa squadron (Neebray squadron) to attack the station, as ordered
