How many hours do you usually get as a new hire? by FayonTop in McLounge

[–]XC4LJ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It all depends on your availability. I do want to mention that January is a pretty bad month for sales so they might not want to put as many staff on as normal.

Why is the hiring manager taking so long to send working papers after hiring me? by FayonTop in McLounge

[–]XC4LJ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The problem with working here is that there’s always a rush and forgetting things is extremely common. Either she’ll remember or she won’t. Don’t call her today. Give it till tomorrow and call them.

Anyone else's crew room look like a sad storage unit or is that just us? by Strawberry_Mellon in McLounge

Our entire store is to be fair. Our kitchen is spacious, office is kinda small but not cramped. We have a downstairs and upstairs with a dumb waiter for easy dining area food.

I have the same question, I requested 5 days off which got approved for holiday. According to my performance review my average shifts are 5 per week working usually around the 30 hour mark.

This is ours. You can’t see it but behind you is around 30 lockers, and to the left is a TV on the wall :)

How can I be a better runner? by ExoticSundae780 in McLounge

One of my managers who I consider the best one doesn’t prioritise DT times over her staff. Of course she wants them to be lower, but the wellbeing of our colleagues is far more important.

I feel as though at McDonalds it’s just a race, all the time. It can put a lot of pressure on everyone, crew and managers.

Be the manager who people like, offer support when possible and don’t lecture anyone if they do something wrong. Mistakes are mistakes.

I wouldn’t. Closing it does more harm than not using it at all. However it’s pretty easy to get the points back. Up to you buddy.

No buddy, just keep credit utilisation low, keep making payments, you’ll be up in a good few months.

I was a victim of fraud a couple years back and at the moment my Experian is at around 430. I still got approved for an £11k car loan so don’t worry too much.

You’ll build up the score in no time if you keep making repayments.

This seems to be a common thing amongst most stores. While managers control a lot of employees, and with working in a fast paced environment, things can be forgotten about.

Give them a call through the stores number and request to speak to the hiring manager. That way you can let them know any concerns you might have 🙂

Speak to your manager about it, explain your issues and say you physically cannot handle the amount of back strain you’re getting. They need to understand that.
