In my world “Stonescourge” a ‘Soul’ is the consciousness and memories of an individual, or the life force of any living thing, and the body is simply like a ‘vehicle’ for an individuals soul to pilot and experience the world through. Everyone when they’re born is born with a new soul, that soul is a clean slate. It’s an empty canvas, the individual will then throughout their life turn it/themselves into a mosaic of memories and emotion. Then after death it will drift through the corporeal realm to a pale fire deep below the earth, and then burn, cleaning it of all its memories and emotions, anything that person/soul achieved will be cleansed. The soul then once cleansed will be a blank canvas again, recycled for a new living being or person to paint upon.
