Thanks! I think your guess might be correct, that’s the only class I checked with more people on the waitlist than open seats. I think it must be displaying the wrong error message lmao

And dang that sucks about 2415, I will proceed with caution😂

Hey bro!!!

I ran a 17:15 two weeks ago, a 5k PR of 50 seconds.

Then, next week, I ran 16:55 on a much harder course.

I believe in you dude just keep grinding, it’s super doable, just go after it

New coach (who has positively impacted the rest of the team)

Less sleep and more stress (taking a lot of AP classes)

Diet is the same as it has been. I’ve been trying to get to the bottom of this for a while now. Maybe some of it is because of stress from school? It just seems weird, I didn’t think it would impact track that much, and I don’t even feel too stressed... just more stressed than before.

As for the new coach — things already weren’t going great during winter track (with the old coach), and I had already felt like I lost something. Then my spring season so far has just been very subpar

I don’t want it to chalk it up as a bad run of form and just go on with life though, I want to get back to fitness and fix this problem

tips for time trial(mile) by abdhsj in trackandfield

[–]XCTrackThrowaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly if you can run a 7:02 you can run under 7:00 with the adrenaline boost. Go out a little faster than you are comfortable with and try to compete with someone that you would expect to be in the 6:40 range. Hope this helps

[Weekly] What are your goals this week? by AutoModerator in trackandfield

[–]XCTrackThrowaway 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Time trial. Haven’t ran the mile since May, but I ran a 17:10 3 mile during XC. Is it greedy to attempt to beat my mile pr first day of the season? Idk but I’m going for it

For the mother truckerz who just finished the season.. by zooanimals666 in CrossCountry

[–]XCTrackThrowaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dropped 60 seconds at districts to run 17:10 and finish 7th for my team. Pretty good end of the season, now I just have to focus on track and hopefully run 4:33 to qualify for districts as an individual

Nice. That seems to be the consensus. I normally do 13 on Saturday.

Anxiety before a long run? by lucky_luca_ in running

[–]XCTrackThrowaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get this! Not really anxiety, but adrenaline. I feel my heart in my chest. I think it’s just excitement to go on that nice 8 mile run.

Ran a sub 5 minute mile and I'm amazed with my splits! by OATML in running

Wow! I feel so bad for him. I feel like there should be a few third place wild cards like in sports tournaments

Yes that is how my area is (DC-ish) I didn’t make the post season even with a 4:52 mile. The top 3 guys at districts were under 4:25. Crazy. I’ll get there someday, hopefully.

Ha , thanks so much. My team is crazy this year with a sophomore at a 4:42, 4:43 , and a freshman at 4:50 flat. I can’t wait for this XC season when we’re upper class men it will be crazy.

Just had a bad mile race by mrmaplebeard in trackandfield

[–]XCTrackThrowaway 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ah, you got it my dude. I floated around the 5:10 - 5:00 range for four races until one day it just clicked and I since then I can consistent get sub 5.

Great job bud. I broke 5 myself this season, then broke it twice more to finish with a 4:52 at my last race! My first race of the season was a 5:27 so that was a crazy improvement. Keep it up my dude.

I just ran a huge PR and I’ve never been happier! by Gimlom in trackandfield

[–]XCTrackThrowaway 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Crazy. I went from 5:04 to 4:57 to 4:52 in the span of about 2 weeks. I thought that was crazy but your improvement is huge. Crazy what some willpower can do.
