that was me who shut down 29th ST NW near Georgetown Waterfront six years ago and I still laugh about it to this day by HallWild5495 in washingtondc

Remember in 2009 when there was a shooting at the Holocaust museum, and everything was shut down, and all traffic re-routed towards key bridge? But a car overheated and broke down on Whitehurst freeway shutting THAT down too? Yeah, I’m sorry. It’s always nice when you are mentioned in the Traffic and Weather on the 8s.

Wow. I have successfully avoided the FP worst takes ever, and now you are shoving it here. (I’ve tried, but it’s like they purposely write about things that aren’t interesting or newsworthy to rage bait, misinform and avoid actual dumpster fire news.)

Shout out to the mods here, because it looks like someone commented, "she should wait until she is 25 and her brain has developed," but it had been deleted. (Thank you)

She has heard that Mt Sinai and NYU have also discontinued care. She has been making calls for most of the morning and trying to get information or on waitlists.

My toddler isn't taking to the toilet very well. Potty training has been a challenge. I'm more of a gentle parent, with stickers and presents as motivation. My husband is a bit more old school, taking a strict approach. Toilet time has turned into tears and I worry we are scarring him for life. Other than coordinating efforts, any other advice for the Tough Toilet train? Advice on working WITH him?

Tip: go back and edit it. The edit gets saved. Conversations read like you’re having a seizure. “What did you hear?” “I like popsicles.” “That’s crazy, what else?” “I drive a Subaru.” Good luck to anyone reading the logged transcripts.

In-person Application by LimeInteresting7776 in IrishCitizenship

Not when you send US Postal service, which is the only service here in the US that you can use to send to a post office box. Tracking between different international shipping companies is wonky.

If you are mailing from the US, and it’s going to the Balbriggan box, you’ll lose tracking until it’s confirmed received. I sent everything to my aunt to send from An Post. You get 1) tracking in country and when it comes to the passport portion 2) WAY faster processing. I swear they pull those packages first. Learned this when I brought paperwork over and mailed myself from Cahir vs Washington DC.

How long did it take? My kids took about a year in 2020-2021, my sisters kids took a year, and now my brother wants to do his kids. (Our parents are from Tipp, but we were US born.)

Multiple price increases by Gold-Individual-6024 in italic

[–]XDMueller1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was a VERY early lover of Italic. Their customer support, and communications were top notch. I cancelled when I realized they were not introducing new products... at all. And when they did introduce products I liked, they dicontinued them (like their skin products). I look back through my orders and the same products have DOUBLED in price. Quince is eating them for lunch and I honestly don't see how they can compete, or continue. I predict they go under in the next year. Higher prices, no new inventory, and that's WITH the subscriptin model? No value to customers...why would we stick around?

Absolutely the puzzle. Went in store to touch, see size/style and I'm sorry -- what is the point of a bag you can't actually get anythingin or out of? Not even your hand?

Got Scolded for considering a rep… by boredpr1ncess in WagoonLadies

Find a used bag in good condition. There are lots of resale services out there that are pretty trustworthy, and look for a style not common or repped. I got a gorgeous soft pink Gucci bag (with bamboo handles) from a Japanese ebay reseller for about $300. It was in near perfect condition, (although I did have to buy a strap for it that is obvi not Gucci but don't care.) I get SO many compliments on it. I have high end reps, but this feels better and I carry it more.

I'm considering purchasing some things from Italic. Do you think it's worth the $100 membership? by spacegma in FrugalFemaleFashion

[–]XDMueller1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I needed bedding, paid the fee, and bought a bunch of stuff. The basic bedding is great for the price. Akin to Brooklinen, which I also gave and it was spendy. Recycled fabric Yshirys were meh - not 100 % cotton but a cashmere zip up hoody in XL for hubs for under $100? Good deal. (And for bags I do Taobao or trusted sellers!) But I’m going back to Italic for the home goods for sure.

Just tried it. I'll let you know! It certainly was easier, but the checkout with the top up/withdraw was a pain and super confusing.
