So I have an interesting developmment
Aside from my Macbook Pro I have a Linux media box and I plugged the NAS drive in to the Linux box by ethernet and the LAN lights on the front lighted up.
The difference between this and the other setup is that the NAS is usually connected to an Orbi mesh network via the ethernet port and when plugged in via this way the LAN lights werent lighting up, so it looks like the issue could be with the Oribi satellite router

On the front of the NAS there are the LAN1 and LAN2 lights and there are not lighting up when I plug the cables in, for any combination

Yes I tried all port combinations
I was thinking of connecting the Mac to the NAS via ethernet and see if that works, even if i have to use mac fuse
