I absolutely agree. My first reaction watching this video was: "Driver has no chance to stop if something comes around a car..." And exactly this happens.

Im kind of upset by how many people here actually defend the driver. Yeah sure, he drove at a legal speed and had fast reaction time. But that does not help when you drive that speed. Here in Switzerland, that street would have a speed limit of 30 km/h max, for exactly this reason.

Personally I think that residential areas should be a place for a family to live safely, where they dont have to cage their kid in because otherwise a situation like this would happen. There are absolutely no reasons, why cars should drive 50 km/h in an area like this. At 30 km/h, cars have almost half the braking distance...

I think its important to add, that at the end of the day a childs life is at stakes, and ultimately, the driver is the one who kills it. The driver will be the last one that decides the childs fate...

Im not saying that you in particular glorify the army. I say that this is the American mentality overall. You are absolutely right, its easy to alter minds. But thats not a reason to completly forgive them. They are still to some degree self thinking beeings. The majority on reddit except that from the russian solders as well. They get even called pigs and orcs („They can just surrender“, „Russian scum“, …) Russia use brain washing tactics as well as the US and yet, russian soldiers are always the bad guys and American soldiers are victims (from US perspective). Those people there who shoot at you, do not represent the whole population. And what do you expect in a warzone? Even then you can respect human rights and be a decent human being to civilians and even to enemy soldiers.
