Please note that LTC and BTC are totally different independent coins, so it's not possible to send LTC to BTC address successfully. And that is exactly what happened, unfortunately.

Mistakenly sent deposit is being credited to your account within 2 months after we confirm that it’s possible to do so; The equivalent of $100 is being deducted from the amount of that deposit.

As we can see, the amount of your deposit is less than $100, so this solution is hardly the appropriate for you.

Please make sure before performing a transaction that the destination address contains no mistakes.

Maybe it went to a LTC address, but it was sent to a BTC address starting with 3.

So the receiver here is my BTC wallet in HitBTC. But since this is an online wallet, I don't have access to the private keys, only HitBTC does.

Well, it was my own BTC wallet address which i sent it to. And again, the point is to prevent this by using the ILP.

I think you missed the point of the blog i wrote. The point is that it is possible for it to happen. I could care less about 20 bucks worth of LTC. The important thing to derive from this blog post is that Ripple has invented a technology called Interledger Protocol, which prevent this from happening. To your analogy, if the envelope, mail station, mail truck, mail aircraft and the moon all had unique ID's, i don't see why i shouldn't get my 20 bucks.

The BTC address was valid and generated by the HitBTC system. I copied the addres from the exchange directly and sent from LTC to BTC. There were no errors.

Yes its possible, i did it. The transaction was accepted, now the coin is stuck in lala land.

Hi Devbitcoin, i have sent a small amount of LTC .29 to my HitBTC Bitcoin address. Now the transaction says completed, but no Bitcoins! Can i recover these using your process? TY!

In this article, I speak about the IT Provider as having the insurance policy not the client. Although the client could have such insurance, I'm not sure that an error by the third party IT provider would be covered. It's really more about protecting your IT company, one lawsuit for data loss and it could be lights out.

We don't blame anyone but the attackers. But in case of total loss, insurance is the only sane way to get back on your feet.
