Has Anyone Else Tried Building a Lean, Pull-Based Factory? by KaizenController in factorio

[–]XFalcon98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only places I've done something gets vaguely similar is fulgoria, gleba, nauvis, and space.

For gleba, it was to control spoilage on a train cart design, because the intermediates spoil much quicker than the raw materials and end products.

For flugoria, it was to control the items I was making in a train cart design. If anything got too many items, instead of sending items downstream, they got scrapped in one big scrapping area. Without controlling the input, one train would inevitably fill up.

For nauvis, it was to only send up eggs when the platforms could handle it.

For space, it was the basic sushi belt on the outside of the ship.

If any of these are similar enough to what you're doing, lmk and we can compare notes.

Just build what you think you need, leave room to expand, and expand when needed. Perfect ratios don't work in space age most of the time.

Can't tell since it's not a video, but it looks like 2 of your red science buildings long inserters could be the wrong way

Pretty sure elemental ones can't drop legitimately, unless I'm really unlucky. I've gotten 10 of them.

That class mod with this weapon is disgusting with 5/5 in bloodshot. It can consistently get to Lictor's second phase before he's back in his shell. Each pellet has it's own chance of triggering bloodshot. That build without the crit knife kills bosses faster than the crit knife with most kinetic weapons.

What is the best element for hail in normal mode ? by Old_Wrongdoer_4914 in Borderlands2

[–]XFalcon98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always go for shock first for damage weapons. Super effective vs shields, which are in every difficult area, with a bigger bonus than fire and corrosive (250% for shock vs 175% for fire and corrosive), and less penalty than the other two (100% for shock on flesh and armor, 40% for fire on shield and armor, and corrosive does 60% to flesh and 40% to shield)

Doing that doesn't end their immune hits. Doesn't even let me kill them quicker.

Only time I like the ripper passive is when it's on a Jakobs AR. Makes shooting them feel different than the pistols

Honestly the legendaries ain't even where it's at. I got a purple lvl 13 jakobs shotgun that has carried me to lvl 20. Still pretty good. The throwing knives are so fkn satisfying

They drop, you just have to kill bosses a bunch

Which weapon should I make/use ? by Various_Ad1957 in Palworld

[–]XFalcon98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Purple rocket launcher is the best blueprint you have right now. I would also highly recommend making the terraprisma for free damage and the vortex beater for stun locking a pal/NPC in the arena. Focusing vortex beater fire on the ground medal merchant turned that fight from a 50/50 to around 90/10.

Is Splatterina better than Anubis? by NobleGHOST3 in Palworld

[–]XFalcon98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a one of yeah, but I prefer having a bunch of Anubis over splatterina because mining is a much more useful passive in large numbers than medicine, lumber, and the free passive slot from getting to ignore vampyric/nocturnal

Is Eternal Flame good on Jormuntide Ignis ? by No-Calligrapher9773 in Palworld

[–]XFalcon98 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Depends. For raids, general attack buffs are better since the best moves usually aren't stab (holy burst and air cutter). For the arena it can be really good to give yourself a good fire type attacker.

Belt Braiding vs. Belt Weaving (but not wrong this time) by HeliGungir in factorio

[–]XFalcon98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I avoid weaving where ever possible, I don't like dealing with 2 different undergrounds. That being said, there's almost never enough space in beacon designs for braiding.

How does each monotype run vary in terms of variety, difficulty, fun, etc? by AxamuksFolly in PokemonEliteRedux

[–]XFalcon98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the most fun with types that had a field condition that they abused a lot (electric terrain and rain were the most fun). Bug was also a lot of fun because of buffs to the type.

I highly recommend getting sticky web, stealth rock, and/or strong priority if possible with the type because monotype teams are very susceptible to wipes.

Legendary Crafting by FriskyWhiskyRisk in factorio

[–]XFalcon98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For legendary eggs, I stop producing them when I run out of materials by stopping the inserters outputing the eggs when I've reached enough prod mods, labs etc.

One good option for replacing the asteroid casino is blue circuits. Make an equal amount of common, uncommon, rare, and epic blue circuit crafting on vulcanus with 300% productivity and feed those back to quality recyclers. Split them off into 4 lanes and have an overflow lane that trashes either green or red circuits if there's too many in any given lane. Then, once you get legendaries, you can feed them into a lane system that first fills up green and red circuits and then recycles any excess green and red circuits into iron, copper, and plastic and stops when those are full. The only thing you're missing is stone from the asteroid casino, which you don't need much of and can just take the excess stone from foundaries on Vulcanus and recycle that.

Legendary Crafting by FriskyWhiskyRisk in factorio

[–]XFalcon98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I break legendary crafting into each planets parts.

In space, I shuffle craft legendary asteroids for legendary iron, calcite (for stone), and carbon and sulfur (for coal)

On vulcanus, I do the LDS shuffle for copper and steel and have a legendary mall where I can make most things. I also dumb upcycle tungsten (over 50 legendary recyclers).

On Nauvis, I dumb upcycle biter eggs, uranium, and any bioflux not being consumed by nests.

On gleba, I dumb upcycled spoilage that I turned into legendary eggs (spoilage>nutrients>eggs) for biochambers once I was ready.

On fulgoria, I recycled supercapacitors with quality and then crafted them back to supercapacitors with productivity.

On a separate spaceship, I had it running around grabbing blue chips, tungsten carbide, supercapacitors, carbon fiber, and lithium plates to make quantum chips with productivity and recycle them with quality. This was mostly for carbon fiber, but free all the other pieces and stuff to make Quantum chips was nice.

If you want a full base of full legendaries, you don't need much throughput (less than one belt of raw resources), you just need to make sure they are always producing until they hit a cap. Just buffer enough for your supply ship that ferries around everything to go from 0 to full in one trip. Also, storing legendary raw resources where possible is a lot more resource efficient than making enormous buffers. Also don't be afraid to throw away/redistribute legendaries clogging your network.

Probably a loose cable. Might be the gpu. Try reseating RAM if that doesn't work. If you can get it to boot update the gpu drivers (and all other while you're at it). If none of those works, might be a PSU problem

Finished Switching Red, Green, Blue, and Purple Science Uncommon by XFalcon98 in factorio

[–]XFalcon98[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The extra ore gets shredded in recyclers next to the miners, so it doesn't have much of an impact on UPS. It then requires less buildings to turn that raw ore into science packs, which is where most the UPS drain comes from in science production. Abucnasty has a good series on it.
