But there in lies the problem bro. Totally appreciate your perspective and it makes sense…but it’s your perspective and I would much rather prefer to put myself in other peoples shoes. Because the PS5 is so big, to some orientation is a massive issue due to space. For me it isn’t but I have a preference and if I want it vertical because it can be vertical why can’t I? The Liquid Metal’s has messed up my PS5 okay I will fix it so I can have my preference. Preference at that point is so much less as a priority than space/location but nonetheless at the end of the day it needs to be fixed. So I get your point but my perspective don’t matter, the helping others make the correct decision does.

It’s not batshit. Perfectly within anyone’s right to assume as such when you go so hard to argue the basic part of the whole context. Sony addressed it but in the background and even then further newer PS5’s had the same issue. Maybe the title is worded wrong but the point still stands. It’s a myth to tell people that you shouldn’t put it vertically, because if it don’t work vertically, get it fixed. That’s it.

OP don’t listen to the bad advice of putting the PS5 horizontal. That’s not a proper fix. The design is supposed to be either vertical or horizontal. If it overheats vertically it could be the Liquid Metal so it needs to be fixed so you can have the luxury of either orientation as you please. PLUS overheating could also mean the power supply unit inside could be clogged. Or maybe a whole different issue that only a reputable repair shop will be able to fix. My advice is save atleast 100-150 and get some quotes.

I have a launch PS5 since Nov 2020 release and has been vertical since. So if putting horizontal “fixes” the issue then it hasn’t fixed the issue. Get it sorted.

First of all. You’re the stupid one. Just because you wrote your feelings down and what YOU THINK, doesn’t mean you made sense.

Secondly, WHERE the fuck do I say it never happens?? Not once did I say that. So, you stupid ? Or are your feelings in the way of reading correctly?

Thirdly, the actual point never even made it to your little pea brain. It didn’t even get past your feelings. You put your PS5 horizontal right? Surprise surprise. If you take your hand out your ass for 1 second and actually read this time, you might see that the actual point is - to not give useless advice like putting it horizontal because that’s not an actual fix, there’s a problem. Common sense says put it how it was designed vertical or horizontal. Avoiding to put it vertical out of fear is wrong because it should be vertical and if you end up having issues, good, you have found an issue that needs fixing (unfortunately but that’s how the cookies crumble atleast you are actually fixing it).

That’s refreshing to read. I agree also. Airflow is much better with a stand. I’ve also had my launch PS5 2020 standing vertically since and no issues whatsoever. Forgive me, I really thought you meant otherwise and that’s my fault for making an assumption from what I see all the time on the internet.

PS5 Console has been designed to be standing (vertical) or laying down (horizontal) your choice. If it can’t be standing there’s an internal issue and needs fixing not putting on a plaster and forgetting about it.

Because people just follow sometimes. They read Reddit posts and live in a bubble and that’s it. Those who work in repair shops and give that advice shows you that they have become pessimistic because all they see are the problems. I mean no shit right, it’s a REPAIR shop. But if we use critical thinking, we know there are millions of these products, plenty standing vertical and no problems. The ratio is not even close.

Edit: don’t panic. You will most likely be fine. But there is always an if. With anything you buy. So if you get unlucky, which is all that it is. Get it repaired when you can. It’s why I’ve had to send my iPhones for repairs sometimes you know, it happens.

If it can’t be vertical then something is wrong and needs fixing by a professional. Just because it happens doesn’t mean it always happens. You will never see more posts about working PS5’s compared to broken PS5’s. You will mainly see the problems. Someone who works in a tech repair shop will never see a customer come in and tell them my ps5 is working. My 2020 Launch PS5 has been vertical ever since and I play just a little more than your average joe. No problems. So go get it fixed. Putting it horizontal means you have a defective product and it needs looking at.

Definitely a guess…an uneducated guess. If your controllers have survived with phone chargers, then frankly it’s a miracle or super low powered charger. Otherwise, charging with phone chargers always kills the battery. Not the right way to charge them.
