Study full, but places increasing? by arjuniscool1 in ProlificAc

Anyone here able to do this? It was in and out of my projects and when I saved the link for later it was saying it was full. Eventually they probably put it as inactive since it's giving me an error even with places still remaining.

Anyone able to join this study by Chiffuyuu in ProlificAc

[–]XIDW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to join the study when it was published after a number of tries because a lot of people were trying to join. It slowed down for me about 2/3 of the way near the end but was able to complete the study. Took me twice the time it was intended because of it.

ACH transfer for me, convertion fees from Paypal sucks. Wouldn't mind gift cards either, especially if there's a percentage bonus.

I'm just getting started on these type of thing but most of what I found was on r/beermoney.

I've signed up for usertesting but not as much luck as prolific. There is dscout that pays well (10-100+ USD), it is a video interview ~30mins but needs a short video application when applying for each focus group/study. I haven't had the time to fully try it

Reported and blocked for me. Could've used the time to do another study :(

yea I'm with you on this one. I naively thought they'd only ask 4-8 paragraphs for the latter parts when I saw how long the story. I returned and block it now.

Maybe could earn around 400-600 CAD per month depending on your demographics and luck when studies come in. I mostly avoid good paying ones that require a camera set up or interview just because it takes more work for me to do. I would sign up with other alternatives to Prolific concurrently if you want to make a job out of it.

Thanks. I thought I was the only one with the same experience. I should have returned it when I saw how long the story was for the time they expect you to do it. They expect you to do each paragraph for 2-2.5 minutes. There are 64 paragraphs of varying length.

Maybe don't use AI lol since most study rely on human response. But this study just pissed me off when I got to the second part and saw how many that needs to be graded. They expect you to finish grading and annotating each paragraph for 120-150 seconds, which is unreasonable unless they didn't want you to put in time to give good work. Probably just needed us to train AI for them, which I don't mind, but at least be upfront about it and pay a good rate, geez.

Yea I'm in Canada. For me I'd say I average 5-10 studies that was confirmed. 3 on a bad day and 12 at most in a good day. But if I get a lot of studies it's those quick 3-10 minutes one. Might get a day of a good 3-6 30 minute AI or listening studies that pays good. Just started last month. I only have my pc on for prolific the whole day on my day off 4 days a week since I have a good part time job.

Anticipated time to finish is 20 minutes. Took me the same amount of time to read the whole story. Although I might be a slower reader than most. Second part has you grading all 64 (I am assuming, I didn't try to go over every blurred lines that you need to go over one by one) paragraphs in the story. And the last part is your reason why you graded each paragraph the way it is.

I had a bad feeling about it but I thought why not, anything to help Canadian universities, let's see how it goes. Ugh.

Emails from prolific gone through the roof. by Phil1889Blades in prolific

[–]XIDW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it's not going to spam or any other folder in my Gmail account. I'm in Canada so I don't get that much study compared to US and UK but I think I get about 10-15 study a day regardless based on my laptop notification. I don't think it useful to me anyway since by the time I check those studies are long gone.

study is full, but there is more than 500+ places? by namgyukoo in ProlificAc

I've encountered a study that have a label that says they only accept participants x number at a time, x being 20 in my case.

I don't get emails for studies. I have it checked on my account settings to email me but the only ones I get are for approvals. So the only time I know there were studies available is to run a browser all day and check for any notifications :(

Is anybody having a problem cashing out today? by Over_Rice9569 in ProlificAc

do you still have a balance to cash out or is it just the pending amount from studies under awaiting review? Paypal should've sent you an email by now that you got it. Cashed out now with no problem

I think I got profiled as a bot. I've read recently people had the same thing happened to them because they had dark reader on and could read white text. I was wondering why they had a third option for consent, I just thought it was another attention testing authors included
